OMG
Yesterday, on television, they were talking about the plastic continent floating on the Pacific Ocean. I've heard about it before, but never realized the extend of it until they said it was as big as the Province of Quebec.
Which can be said is as twice as big as the Province of British Columbia.
Are you concerned about this growing problem floating only a handful of kilometers away from our coastal shores?

Re: OMG
Seems so odd that it doesn't show up on the satellite images on Google Earth.

Yes, I found that odd too, then just saw this on Wikipedia
Most debris consists of small plastic particles suspended at or just below the surface, making it impossible to detect by aircraft or satellite.

It also says the size of the patch could be up to 15 times the size of BC! (15,000,000km2)

Re: OMG
I heard of this several years ago but I forgot how big it was. Supposedly some young inventor created a device that could clean it up, but I'm not sure where that ended up.
