Re: How much $ will you spend on Halloween this year?
We bought chocolates last night. Just in case the kids don't like books of course. And of course we plan to quality moniter the stuff before Halloween. Of course, who wouldn't? Wouldn't want the kids to get awful stuff. May have to step out and get more if we don't like them. By "more" I mean a different box of chocolates, maybe from a rival maker. Not that they all don't collaborate on their chocolate goods. Gangsters all of them. But I've got them in my house, where I can keep an eye on them.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

We bought $24 in pumpkins that supported our local farm. The kids have fun with designing their pumpkins and watching daddy carve them out. They will eventually end up in our compost.
I bought $13 in playdough to hand out.
I have kids with food allergies and in the past we have donated candy to the food bank.
They LOVE going out in our neighbourhood and visiting our neighbours...It helps build a stronger community when you know the people you live around. They LOVE to see the decorations and their friends dressed up.
There is more to Halloween then just candy....

I think Bernard Callebaut has good Halloween chocolate. You should get some of that.
And sometimes, trick or treaters look really tall and keep coming back. Just go with it, don't sweat the small stuff.

If you see a really tall one of these shown in the video, it might be me. Maybe not an emoticon, but just as good:

And back on topic, I still need to buy stuff. We never get very many kids, alas, I wish we had more.
What to hand out that I won't eat before they arrive. That is a tough call.

The boxed wine IS the good stuff, its much better than the wine in the cans.
