I think I've eaten $500 worth of Halloween junk as part of my quality testing. Notice how much smaller everything now is? Wagon wheels about the size of a quarter.
One year I gave out soda pop and whistles.. local parents stopped sending their precious to my house.
I laughed at BMan giving wood bits, I would have expected potatos

It takes about 20 of the mini bars to make up one decent size I used to get decades ago - the shame of it all. Have to go out again and buy more. Even eggs aren't that expensive - I can paint a few dozen and hand them out - be cheaper and the kids would have so much fun with them.

On candy, I spend nothing, I never get trick or treaters waaay out here in the boonies, but I did spend about 300 hundred bucks on costume fabric etc for a costume party my children attended last weekend.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

$700 on ex-lax and $30 for the candy to soak in it overnight.

WASHINGTON -- A woman in North Dakota is making headlines after announcing she will not give candy on Halloween night to overweight kids who ring her bell. Instead, she'll hand out a letter.
"You(r) child is, in my opinion, moderately obese and should not be consuming sugar and treats to the extent of some children this Halloween season," reads a line in the letter, which was posted on the The Today Show's website.
In the letter, the woman justifies her actions with the common phrase "It takes a village to raise a child."
She says she is disappointed in her town of West Fargo, N.D., and her "hope is that you will step up as a parent and ration candy this Halloween and not allow your child to continue these unhealthy eating habits."

Groan...
I'm heading to Superstore again - maybe the chocolate bars will be cheaper. I'll look for the ex-lax while I'm there.

I donned a balaclava as a quick, cheap halloween costume.
I went into a gas station and got arrested.
