Harper suing Quebec over Sovereignty: Declared war

Harper is suing Quebec with his Bill 99 to invalidate the right of the province to separate from Canada without asking Ottawa first.

The cause will be heard in 2014.

The federal government filed a legal intervention last Wednesday in a court challenge that argues a Quebec law outlining the grounds for secession is limited by the Canadian constitution.
