CRTC vs Netflix

Post by Glacier »

I don't have TV, but do watch Netflix once of twice a month, so I'm a little concerned about the CRTC's strong handed approach to Netflix. What do you think?

This is interesting. A corporation is taking an entire govt head on.

I'm rooting for Netflix though.

They're awesome.

I love Netflix, totally worth it. The CRTV can get stuffed.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

But, But, they do a wonderful job...I don't get any more phone solicitations since I registered with their "do not call" program!

How do you figure they'll create jobs? Netflix doesn't produce movies - they offer on-demand streaming of movies worldwide plus DVD's by mail in the USA.

They are actually making more and more of their own series, including new seasons of Trailer Park Boys (Canadian) and Hemlock Grove (filmed in Canada).

NetFlix also created House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black.

My apologies, I should have said NetFlix helped produce and broadcast shows such as House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, I realize the didn't actually creat these shows. But the fact remains that because of NetFlix producing and or broadcasting these original programs a lot of jobs were created, some of it by Canadian studios and engineering companies.

Netflix should be honored just because now I know what Donna Pinciotti looks like naked. I've been wondering about it since I was 17.

The CRTC is trying to force us to watch lame asssss Canadian produced shows.

If I want to watch lame asssssed Canadian shows, I will but I don't like being told I have to because there's nothing else on.

Trying to control on line media access is like trying to corral a fart in the wind. They need to go away.

So many TV shows and movies are made here, that is your Canadian content. And really who cares? I don't watch the credits to find out where a show is made anyways, if it's good I'll watch.

The fact we still have state-controlled media .... sounds like a communist country.
