Darn leftists, anyway. Why can't they be like the Fraser Institute and the Manning whatchamicallit. And deliver messages like Sun News.

So nonprofits must refrain from making most to almost any political statement, but religious groups can spout from the pulpit which candidate to vote for?

Looks like the Conservatives are using the CRA as a kudgel to beat opponents into submission. This does not bode well for democracy.

A bird watching charity seems like a stretch.

Darn birdwatchers! They do things like buy marshlands and prevent development. They keep the marshlands for birds instead of development. Saving swamps is an objective of the Green Party and some of the leftists in the NDP and Liberals. Clearly a political agenda. And anti-development.

Also, by probing the membership lists of these environmentalist groups, tax audits can be better targeted and lists for robocalls can be fine tuned.

Anyone can be a charity. The CRA rules are very clear on that, and also equally clear on what you cannot do. You can be political, but you cannot be politically partisan. You can advocate for your cause, but you cannot advocate for one party or one candidate. This applies to all charities be they churches or bird watching groups.

The usual leftist suspects are making assumptions and libelous claims about the government dictating to the CRA when they don't have a single shred of evidence to back up their claim. If they broke the rules just like David Suzuki, they should have to suffer the consequences just like everyone else that doesn't follow the rules.

The birdwatchers wrote directly to two federal cabinet ministers to complain about government-approved chemicals that damage bee colonies. Then they got a letter from the CRA.

The CPC must be politically against the bee's, if a nature club writing a Environment Minister about chemicals that are killing bee's is politically motivated. Isn't everyone pro-bee?

Has the CPC made bee's a politically partisan issue by perusing this in a election year? S-M-R-T
