To Steven Lloyd ...

Sorry, I am not sure what rules they go by in PG.

Are you sure that that is the latest version of what intelligence means up there?

I don’t know what rules they go by in PG either Donny. Do you know what assumptive thinking is? I grew up and lived in small town Calgary for 25 years. Worked the oil fields, owned a successful business (that I ultimately sold for an impressive ROI) and worked as a commodities broker. Moved to BC in 1982 and after two years in the Okanagan moved to small town Vancouver – where I graduated SFU and then worked in the investment industry. After ten years there I decided to make a big career change and moved to Kelowna (after a winter travelling Southeast Asia). I earned a second degree from the University of Victoria at Okanagan University College and spent another ten years in Kelowna before moving on again ten years ago.

What’s a socialist Donny? Someone who thinks we should grow the Canadian economy by providing incentive to Canadian companies to employ Canadians in refining our own product, instead of selling ourselves out to corporations that pay next to nothing in tax or royalties and bring in workers from other countries? Free enterprise system? Is that what you call it when your man in office with no interest in democratic process will use every trick he can (eg. omnibus bills) to subvert democracy ratifies an agreement with China that will allow them to sue our provincial government (that’s our money by the way Donny) if we don’t agree to building pipelines and shipping dilbit across our mountains, rivers and streams – for them to refine and sell back to us (for not next to nothing profit)? Is that you call it when companies can be allowed to profit greatly by the extraction our raw resources and if there is an ecological disaster we pay for the clean-up? Is that what you call free enterprise Donny? Or is that small town thinking rather than a National perspective? What’s your version of intelligence?

If you think the Harper government is looking out for your best interests …
you’re a special kind of stupid

To Steven Lloyd ...

Much different story then you told on the Sensible BC thread.

Where does all of your years of "front line police association" and long association with marijuana and criminal gang types fit into the spanking new profile you have painted? The previous profile that you also tried to pass on the Sensible BC thread.

False and misleading information back then or false and misleading information now?

Are you mixing alcohol and prescription drugs Donny? I just posted that I made a major career change twenty years ago

Tick tock tick tock tick tock (okay, think this one through)

I have never professed to be anything different than what I just posted (I left out some things like a year of service in the CAF as a full-time reservist when still a young guy). I have spent the last twenty years working with marginalized people and groups, the last ten from directly within the criminal justice system - working with police, the Courts, Forensics, etc. Can you see anything in what I just posted that would contradict that? Can you say post reply without understanding what I just read first? That is your forte Donny. Assumptive thinking, jumping to conclusions without the least amount of cognitive effort expended first and ideological rigidity. Like most Conservatives, thinking too far out of the box seems inherently difficult.

You know what is especially amusing – especially since we’re having this discussion literally hundreds of miles apart – is that in this day and age you still think information-sharing and interagency cooperation is geographically limited. Even those big drug gangs you like to talk about are decades ahead of you in tech savvy. It is really incredible just how far out of the loop you are while professing this extraordinary level of expertise.

You have a very convenient and opportunistic memory Mr Lloyd. As people who followed the Sensible BC thread can easily identify. With all of the exaggerated experience you now profess to have you must be about 130 years old.

Did you think everyone would forget about your previous assertions of years of knowledge regarding both the police and criminal drug gangs as they relate to marijuana?

Now you profess to be a financial expert in a position to judge those with a Masters and years of experience in running a country like Canada. Do you mind if I send this into Ripley's Believe it or not?

I am annoyed that Harper has been #NotMyPrimeMinister for as long as he has!

To daria ...

I suppose that people from the minority parties in any democratic country feel that way on occasion. But I think you have to admit that Canada is on a reasonably solid foundation financially, which many other countries of the world are not.

It will take a while for the next PM to repair all the damage Harper has created since the last election.

I am disheartened by the fact that his promise that we wouldn't recognize Canada when he was through has come true (and the b-tard isn't through yet!).

I prefer that Canada not be sold wholesale to China.

Alright then shut down Canadian 'wholesale' exports to China, and see how well that goes for us.

I would suggest that it is your memory and comprehension that is giving you trouble. Never mind forgetting what was on another thread entirely. You can’t seem to remember what was written in just the last post. Not very good at counting either, eh Donny? I just can’t see how this could be so hard for you. 25 years in Calgary. 2 in the Okanagan and then about 10 in Vancouver. Another 10 in Kelowna before moving away 10 years ago. That should add to 57. Heh! What do you know?

I don’t know why this is so hard for you. I’m not trying to be insulting but I can only imagine what goes on in your head as you reply to posts. It is truly perplexing. They’re words Donny. The language I use to write them in are English. They go in order to make a sentence. I can’t see anyone else having this problem with understanding what is posted. That is what everyone remembers from the Sensible BC threads. Did you think everyone (or anyone) would forget your irrelevant and comic rants?

Donald G wrote: Now you profess to be a financial expert in a position to judge those with a Masters and years of experience in running a country like Canada.

Huh ???? Can you show me where I even came close to professing that ??? This is another example of what you did on the Sensible BC threads and we all asked you the same question then – “do you even read the posts you reply to?”

Donald G wrote: Do you mind if I send this into Ripley's Believe it or not?

NO -You should Donny. You really should.

To Steven Lloyd ...

I will let people look back on what you have written on the Sensible BC thread and read this thread and decide for themselves what your actual knowledge and experience consists of.

As Robert Burns said, "If He but had the gall tae gee us, the pow't tae see oursel'ls as others see us" the world would be a better place.

Meanwhile back on the thread ...

I was hoping to have a neutral thread here. All politicians need to be changed eventually just like diapers, and for the same reason. In my opinion, Harper has done some good things (scrapped the long gun registry, etc.), but also done some boneheaded things as well (long form Census fiasco, etc.). Some of you will disagree, and that's perfectly okay. Even if he has done more good than bad, it could still be argued that it's time to change the diaper because even a good person left in charge too long tends to slip into corruption. The government's fate is really up to voters to decide next year, and not so much in this thread.

Most of us don't judge a man by the length of his penis, so there's no need to judge a politician's worth by the length of time in office. History will decide.
