Confidence in cops

I would say this gets discussed quite frequently here.

The Angus Reid poll finds that while the overall confidence in the national policing service sits at 66 per cent, that number flucuates, depending on whom you ask.

Sixty-eight per cent of non-minorities have confidence in the RCMP, compared to only 54 per cent of minorities.

Broken down by province, B.C. shows the least confidence, at 54 per cent, while Saskatchewan and Quebec express the most, at 78 and 77 per cent respectively.

Heather MacDonald suggests another perspective on this issue... an issue that obviously has a significant influence on the confidence level by minorities. Worth a read. In posting this, I am not suggesting that her position is either valid or invalid. As I said, it is another perspective and individuals need to think for themselves on issues like this.
