If someone is on social assistance or PWD and are forced to take early CPP, the provincial government will top up the amount until age 65. When they reach 65, they get the OAS along with CPP plus the GIS depending on their income with the provincial government covering their drug costs.

Absolutely. Ponzi schemes work best for those who are able to cash in early. And besides, putting off collecting CPP to increase the monthly payout could result in a reduction in the GIS for those with low incomes.

I'm guessing that we will be seeing CPP deductions soar as it becomes clear that much more money is needed to keep up with payouts.:cry:
