Peter MacKay will not run for Conservative leadership

Former cabinet minister Peter MacKay says he will not run for leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada.
"After much soul searching, advice from trusted friends, and weighing of the impact on my young family, I have decided not to seek the leadership of the party," the Nova Scotia native said in a release late Monday afternoon.
"Dishwashers, the dishwasher, right? You press it. Remember the dishwasher, you press it, there'd be like an explosion. Five minutes later you open it up the steam pours out, the dishes -- now you press it 12 times, women tell me again." - Trump

Too bad. I thought he'd be a good choice for leader.
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Bummer, he was the only one of the crew considering that I had respect for.

My cynical side says he knows he couldn't win his Nova Scotia riding any more than CC could win her Point Grey riding, but I think in all honesty, he's putting his family first because his kid has challenges.
Why? Because he stabbed his PC members in the back by making a deal with Reform/CA?

He's not running cause he can't win his riding, that's all.

It does leave the door open for Lisa Raitt. Seems to me she was pretty decent cabinet minister.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

He is smart enough to know that you have to wait at least 4 to 5 years till the smell of Harper is completely gone . let all the wannabes fight it out then make your move.
