Future and role of party allegiance

Post by Rosemary1 »

Wonder if electorate is changing and there is less and less allegiance to political parties based on traditional platforms in an increasingly complicated world where all is not clearly blue, red or orange.

There will always be a fringe of hard core extremists on any side. But it seems there may be a growing number of people whose views are a mix of small c and small l. Their vote will change from cycle to cycle depending on the party that offers the mix of of conservative and liberal offerings that are closest to those most important to such Canadians at that time.

If true, this shift could challenge political parties trying to carve for themselves a unique identify distinguished from others . Popularity may come down more and more to personality and style of leaders than fundamental policy differences

It has always been primarily about policy for me.
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

that middle of the road lasais faire attitude will ensure that we become serfs again - and make our democratic system redundant. one thing you can be sure of is big business will be steadfast in their support of the right wing side. and if they can advertise and bamboozle fence sitters then they will always win.
