Yes GB, O'Leery made many, many politically stupid comments when he was regularly on CBC.

That's OK. If the Conservatives decide they want a bald Wall St. wannabe as their leader, go for it. He will win in Alberta and nowhere else.

O'Leary's possible "in" is a split center left vote in a three party race.
Seems unlikely but people need to vote smart. Will there be an anything but O'Leary vote in the next election?

Such as? Politically stupid is in the eye of the beholder. Just because you think what he said was stupid doesn't make it so. What about what he's saying now? He wants to axe the carbon tax. At least someone is standing up to "surfer dude" and the "vampire" on this issue. It's a total money grab and it hurts the poorest of our society. And it makes us really non-competitive. For what purpose? None!

It still amazes me how people learned absolutely nothing from the US election. Just nothing. This is why history repeats itself, no one learns anything.

I honestly don't think the timing is right. Eight years of Justin should make people mad enough to want change. Four years isn't going to be enough.

I like to think that Canadians are a little wiser than their American counterparts.

E.g. What reaction do you think you get if you proposed abandoning our universal health care? Obamacare is the closest the Yanks have got to that...

E.g. Harper tried to use the niqab issue, a waaay milder issue than Trump was spouting, and it backfired on him, and continues to backfire on the Cons.

E.g. Harper and crew tried to use gun issues, but golly that didn't work either.

E.g. Harper AND Mulcair tried to use deficits as a plank - didn't work.

Canadians can indeed be conned, but it is harder. O'Leery has as much hope as Iggy.

Actually it's easier to con Canadians. We elected a dope smoking failed drama teacher as our leader! How stupid is that??
