Note the date.

This isn't new, folks.

ETA: the 2015 one was in Levant's rant, too. Kinda tough to sit through his condescending snottiness long enough to see it.

The thing is, he's right. Send the Ba*ta*ds back to the US. Or let them freeze. Teach them a lesson. Refugees?? C'mon. I have a bridge for sale. Anyone interested?

Doesn't matter who's in power - illegals and refugees will still be crossing the border.

"Too often, immigration to Canada is viewed as a cost to our society, rather than as a net benefit. But research has found that immigrants are an enormous benefit to Canadian prosperity and this part of our story needs to be told now more than ever."

There is nothing to fear from immigration.

Stop and think how you feel and what you would do if the country you were born in became a mess. Wouldn't you become a refugee if you or your family's lives were at stake?

This talk of wall building demeans all Canadians.

We could still accept just as many . Only difference would be . With a wall . The law would decide who got in and in what order . As opposed to que jumping
Now they want to take our guns away . That would be just fine. Take em away from the criminals first . Ill gladly give u mine. "Charlie Daniels"

All this immigration and refugee stuff, if nothing else, is shedding some light on the changes taking place behind the scenes that nobody wanted to talk about before.

Just the other day I was talking to a friend who works in a motor vehicle licensing branch. They have a refugee lady who has been bringing her 4 kids in every day for over a week and lets them run wild in the office while she takes the learners exam, (for aprox. an hour) leaving the staff to babysit.. She has yet to pass it but pays the fee with a smile every day and then writes again.

I asked her why nobody has said anything about the kids and her reply was, "normally we would have by now but everyone is afraid if they say anything and she complains to the media or something they would get labeled as "racist" and it could be bad for business"

WOW, powerful stuff..!! This is the kind of "side affect" you don't hear much about. Not only do Canadians have to foot the bill but we have to "walk on eggshells" so that we don't offend anyone.

Where is the research data to support this claim? The news story is nothing but an opinion, and contains no facts.

From the article:
A study on these findings will be showcased at the 6 Degrees Citizen Space meeting in Toronto on Sept. 20 to 21.

A quick google search provides further information - for example:

Not really as noted in this article:
Within a decade, 86% of those former refugees were working, healthy and spoke English with some proficiency, achieving the basic criteria for success set out by academic Morton Beiser in his landmark study of their integration into Canadian society. They were less likely to use social services and more likely to have jobs than the average Canadian. One in five was self-employed. They weren’t a drain on the taxpayer—they were taxpayers.

Interesting article in the Toronto Sun. All this border hopping going on should be a huge cause for concern for the Canadian Government and for the Canadian public (taxpayers). :

"Feds clueless on migrant crisis"

http://www.torontosun.com/2017/03/10/fe ... ant-crisis

The good news is the Liberal cabinet is now taking the issue of illegal migrants crossing our border from the U.S. seriously.

The bad news is they clearly don’t have a clue about what’s actually going on.

On Friday, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly made the trip up to Ottawa, the first member of the Trump administration to make such a stop.

Kelly’s many hours of meetings included sessions with Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland, Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen and with the cabinet committee on Canada-U.S. relations.

The most pressing meeting by far, though, was with Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale.

In recent months, the number of illegal border crossings by asylum seekers from the U.S. into communities like Emerson, Manitoba, and Hemmingford, Quebec, have sharply increased.

This has strained our resources, put migrants traveling in dangerous conditions at risk and left Canadians concerned about our porous border.

It’s now become clear some people are getting U.S. visas for the sole purpose of illegally entering Canada almost immediately after they fly to the U.S.

Reports have revealed this is happening in particular with migrants arriving from Saudi Arabia.

Needless to say, it’s cause for concern.

It’s good Kelly came up to Canada for a day of comprehensive meetings.

So what action plan did the two governments come up with? Here’s the bad news:

Goodale revealed at a press conference Friday afternoon that the action plan is simply information gathering ... because they don’t even know what’s going on.

“The primary priority is gathering the data and making sure we have the hard facts about the nature of this migration and what is causing it,” Goodale told the media.

But where did these migrants’ journeys begin? How long have they been traveling? How is the migration being accomplished? What factors are driving it?

All good questions to ask. But shouldn’t our government have some of these answers by now?

Journalists have already been reporting on different aspects on the phenomenon. The Trudeau government appears woefully behind.

“The critical thing is to make sure that we have a complete and detailed picture on both sides of the border as to what exactly is happening here,” said Goodale.

No kidding. It’s alarming we’re only getting started now.

As I have said before, there is nothing to fear here.

Those that cross illegally will be detained. Those who can establish legitimate and accepted refugee status are welcome. Those who can not will be deported.

The numbers are not large, and the ginning up of irrational fears about it is suspect. There may be a short term logistical problem, however that will get sorted.
