This may look similar to what our election will look like next time. People were surprised to see trump win. Lets watch what happens with this. Very interesting for sure.

Anti-Muslim leader Geert Wilders, who recently called some Moroccans “scum,”

The tumult has created opportunities for insurgent parties such as the Green-Left party, an environmentally focused group that supports making changes to the European Union to make it more accountable to voters. The party – led by a charismatic 30-year-old, Jesse Klaver – has risen to fifth place in recent polls, enough support to make it a potential kingmaker in coalition talks. Those are expected to drag on for months.

seeing what a mess the Netherlands political scene is I am so glad that we have never adopted the proportional representation model. Every kook and loon in the Netherlands seems to be able to win a seat in their screwy system.

I wonder why...

https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/2624 ... etherlands

Forty percent of Moroccan immigrants in the Netherlands between the ages of 12 and 24 have been arrested, fined, charged or otherwise accused of committing a crime during the past five years, according to a new report commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Interior.

In Dutch neighborhoods where the majority of residents are Moroccan immigrants, the youth crime rate reaches 50%. Moreover, juvenile delinquency among Moroccans is not limited to males; girls and young women are increasingly involved in criminal activities.

The "Dutch-Moroccan Monitor 2011" also reveals that most of the Moroccan youth involved in criminal activities were born in Holland. This implies that the children of Moroccan immigrants are not integrating into Dutch society, and confirms that the Netherlands is paying dearly for its failed multicultural approach to immigration.

which is why Europe is going down the toilet. They have created a giant welfare state that will collapse on itself. Such is the way of all societies who expect everything for free.

There is a false narrative created by the left that oil companies receive "billions of dollars in subsidies". When the left is questioned on this false statement they usually link to fake "studies" to "prove" their point, and when you drill down into these "studies" you find that the "subsidies" aren't subsidies at all. Oil companies like all companies deduct the costs of their production. Even Norway, that bastion of leftist love, allows oil companies to deduct their costs. All companies get to deduct their costs. That's how taxation works. That's how income statements work. You make income on the top, and deduct your costs below, and the difference is your profit. Or loss. Either way, deducting costs are "subsidies".

Another fake "subsidy" that leftists like to pull out of their hineys is the complete made up "costs to the environment". These costs are not real, do not exist, and are completely and totally contrived, and yet, these are also "subsidies" to the left. It's pure garbage.

Geert Wilders lost, far fewer seats than predicted earlier.

High election turnout resulted in Liberal and left parties outpacing the right wingers.

No wonder the Republicans in the US are all about voter suppression... the higher the turn out, the worse the right wingers do!

Note also that Australia's wannabee Trumpeter party, "One Nation", got smoked in Western Australia elections.

Two for two post Trump for sanity! Liberal and Labour party wins!
The middle path - everything in moderation, and everything in its time and order.

HG - I get that voting for far right parties are probably not a good idea, as it usually is bad to vote for parties that are focused on only one issue (immigrants in this case) or are too far over to one side of the political spectrum. Likewise, I would hardly call it "sane" to vote for Liberal or Labour parties. Especially Labour in Australia. Having lived in Australia I can tell you that Labour party over there is almost as dumb as our NDP and Liberal parties here in Canada, in fact dumber in some cases. I am a big fan of a middle ground, as there is also the economy to think about, and electing equally insane parties like Labour isn't the answer.

In short, there has to be a party out there that isn't insane and dumb like Wilders or Labour, that can handle the economy properly and also find a middle ground between opening borders unconditionally to people who have no interest in assimilating and who is willing to stand up to block-heads who scream "XENOPHOBE!" at anyone who even wants to discuss immigration issues. And Liberal and Labour parties don't seem to be those parties. In fact, they are just as bad, only in the other direction.
