You do realize that the "FOR ALL" part is also for the women who have to learn about getting lawyers, the illegality of honour killing, the fact that they can take grievances all the way to the Supreme Court if warranted. That they have labour rights and compensation expectations in line with labour laws and codes.

The "for all" would have to apply to Canadians too as it is quite clear that many Canadians do not fully grasp the law. My biggest concern would be that it somehow shifts the legal responsibility. I can imagine the court case where a perpetrator claims to not know that it's illegal to shot a fleeing mugger in the back, because that wasn't covered in the course or was accidentally missed by the instructor.

Well you won't find it on the CBC, so that in and of itself would be enough for the apologists and deniers to claim the story is fake. Typical cycle - news happens, the CBC won't report it, so therefore it doesn't exist. If the court documents actually exist, then this is true.

An example of why we may not want to take the onus on the state to inform immigrants and others about the law. My choice was simple, because everyone knows that shooting a fleeing mugger in the back is both illegal and cowardly. It is undeniably wrong, but some psychopaths might consider it perfectly acceptable.

Ya, the "for all" part is not limited to just telling men about what constitutes unacceptable violence. Oh, and if they like it that hitting is not considered domestic violence then Russia has the a home for them. Literally.

Good points QK, but if you are used to a society where any sort of complaint to a higher authority about the way you are being treated impugns the honor of your husband, and thus means you are going to be beaten more or even killed, it's going to take a lot of education and assurances that there is a support system out there for them. It's especially hard if you have just moved here in the past year and don't speak the language and haven't been allowed to assimilate by your hockey-stick carrying hubby.

My point, which keeps getting ignored by the denier/deflector leftist nonsense spouters, is that just playing the "this happens all the time so we should just look the other way if it's a Syrian refugee" is that these beatings are preventable, if people just want to get over their brain-washing and strict adherence to cultural relativism and political correctness and understand that education is required when these people come to Canada. People need to support any and all education for women. Like this person:
