Jackson found the force guilty under the Labour Code of failing to provide its members with the appropriate use-of-force equipment and user training when responding to an active threat or active shooter in an open environment.

He found the RCMP not guilty of failing to provide its members with the necessary information, instruction and/or training when responding to an active threat or active shooter event in an open environment.

He also found the force not guilty of failing to provide its supervisory personnel with appropriate information, instruction and/or training to ensure the health and safety of RCMP members when responding to an active threat or active shooter event in an open environment.

Finding the RCMP federal police force guilty means what? Findings of guilt usually mean there will be criminal consequences. Who is going to pay for this? Those people in the RCMP who failed to adequately protect those under them should be fired. There must be accountability or all of this is meaningless.

Possibly substantial fines will pay for this.

RCMP management's mismanagement of the RCMP would be a joke, if it didn't have such serious far reaching consequences.

When a large government organization is mismanaged, other than firing, what else can you do ? Fine the organization ?

Your fining the tax payer !

The RCMP have continued to put their people at risk on many levels for decades and it has cost many lives.

What isn't considered it how dangerous (possibly) a nervous police officer is to the public.

Just look at the US. Police are poorly trained and trigger happy.

We have intelligent, well trained RCMP, they are at times hung out to dry on many levels by their management.

Agreed that the RCMP will not pay for the fines...the government just moves money from one account (the RCMP) to another account "Labour code"

The real story will be how does the RCMP change its ways or will it appeal?
