Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Royally Screwed Up

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Twitter feed has been a hot pot of aggressive attacks from members of Canada’s Indian community after he used an Arabic word to wish them a happy Diwali.

The Diwali festival of lights is traditionally observed by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists, to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. But it’s not of particular significance to Muslims, whose religious texts are in Arabic. Nevertheless, Trudeau used the Arabic word for “blessed” in wishing people a happy Diwali on Twitter this week.

“Diwali Mubarak!” Trudeau tweeted on Monday. “We’re celebrating in Ottawa tonight. #HappyDiwali!” The tweet included a photo of Trudeau lighting a candle, while wearing an Indian sherwani.

It’s interesting to see the Prime Minister fail so hard when his government spends hundreds of thousands to maintain a perfect image. This is a continuing trend it seems as the Liberals fail - falling poll numbers and mounting scandals.

Well, a slow news day turned into a howling s storm.

Morneau not only forgot about his French maison but also neglected to put his company, worth millions, into a blind trust before taking on one of the highest positions in Canada as finance minister. His company stands to gain substantially from the tweaking of the tax system, and he also claims that he was advised that it wasn't necessary to blind trust his assets.

This man is our Finance Minister for pity's sake. Is he naive, cunning, or just brainless?

Even a school child would know better.

Canada is being run by a ship of fools.

Wishing people "merry Christmas" is considered offensive. Heck the company I work for decided a Christmas party is no longer acceptable, it's now a "year end" party so we don't offend the people who don't participate.

Call me a snowflake or whatever other name you want. Know that if you choose to do so I hold your opinion very low and will continue to stand up for Canadian traditions. I will never choose to believe that our own traditions are so terrible yet we need to bend over backwards to accommodate everyone elses.

Little remarks like the PM made are blown out of proportion but it's issues like I posted above which make the topic so sensitive.
