Crime Severity Index

See where your community ranks. Not too good down here in Penticton but not a surprise. Especially when stories like this exist.

He is out on bail now and he is a violent offender about to serve 10 years. His lawyer says he's a nice guy.

Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

Re: Crime Severity Index
Instead of just releasing career criminals after they serve only one-third of their sentence, let's make them serve the other two-thirds if they are ever convicted of another crime, plus the entire second sentence. This would give some incentive to stay straight.
And we should bring back the lash for offenders who offend again and again. Just giving them time out from society doesn't seem to work for some. Maybe a good spanking would.

So, the lawyer sez "he's a nice guy" while he quickly counts and deposits his pay for defending that really nice guy.
Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice. There’s a certain point at which ignorance becomes malice, at which there is simply no way to become THAT ignorant except deliberately and maliciously.

The Okanagan:
9. Vernon 157
16. Penticton 146
34. Kelowna 116
113 Lake Country 64
117 Summerland 63
119 West Kelowna 62
It's interesting to me that there is a very definite divide between the more urban cities of Vernon, Penticton and Kelowna, and the more rural Lake Country, Summerland, West Kelowna.

Easier access to freebie services and crimes of opportunity for these I’m guessing
