Suggesting they were for nazism is the disrepect . Its a black and white issue .your either for or against .
You dont have to like them. I dont care. But as far as im concerned. It a easy choice to make

Though antifa are often treated as a new force in American politics since the election of Donald Trump, the tradition of anti-fascism stretches back a century, tracing its roots to the 1920s and 1930s, when militant leftists were involved in battles against fascists like Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists and American pro-Nazi organizations such as the Friends of New Germany, fighting Benito Mussolini's Blackshirts in the Italian countryside, exchanging fire with Adolf Hitler's Brownshirts in the taverns and alleyways of Munich, Germany and defending Madrid, Spain from Francisco Franco's insurgent nationalist army.[15] Beyond Europe, anti-fascism became a model of resistance for the Chinese against Japanese imperialism during World War II and resistance to Latin American dictatorships.[16] Anti-fascist groups emerged when Nazis and fascists rose to power in Europe in the 1930s and withered after World War II, as fascism did too. Although there is no organizational connection, the lineage of antifa in America can be traced to Weimar Germany,[17] where the first group described as "antifa" was Antifaschistische Aktion, formed in 1932 with the involvement of the Communist Party of Germany.[18] Antifaschistische Aktion's two-flag logo, as well as the three arrow anti-fascist circle used by the Social Democrats led Iron Front (which was formed in 1931 by Social Democrats), are the most commonly used symbols of contemporary U.S. antifa activists.[19]

After World War II, but prior to the development of the modern antifa movement, violent confrontations with Fascist elements continued sporadically. In 1958 over 500 Lumbee men armed with rocks, sticks and firearms attacked and disrupted a Ku Klux Klan rally, wounding several Klansmen in an event known as the Battle of Hayes Pond. In 1979 the Communist Workers' Party confronted a local Ku Klux Klan chapter, first by disrupting a screening of The Birth of a Nation in China Grove, North Carolina and later organizing a rally and a march against the Klan on November 3 called the "Death to the Klan March" by the CWP.[20] The Maoists distributed flyers that "called for radical, even violent opposition to the Klan"[21], suggesting the Klan “should be physically beaten and chased out of town."[22] In response, as the marchers collected, a caravan of ten cars (and a van) filled with an estimated 40 KKK and American Nazi Party members confronted the protesters, culminating in a shootout known as the Greensboro Massacre.

So you see they dont go around distributing hate or intolerance . Its who they fighting doing that
.
while some such as the group in Wuppertal “liberated” themselves in street battles with Hitler loyalists before the Allies could.

liquidation of Nazi assets to provide for war victims, emergency laws to prosecute local fascists, and the reestablishment of the public health-care service. Typical of an organization led by socialists and thus keenly aware of the need for print media as an organizing medium, the program’s twelfth and final point consisted bluntly of a “Daily newspaper.”

The Antifa (English: /ænˈtiːfə/ or /ˈæntiˌfɑː/)[1] movement is a conglomeration of autonomous, self-styled anti-fascist groups in the United States.[2][3][4] The principal feature of antifa groups is their opposition to fascism through the use of direct action.[5] They engage in militant protest tactics, which has included property damage and physical violence.[2][6][7][8] They tend to be anti-government and anti-capitalist[9] and they are predominantly far-left and militant left,[10][5] which includes anarchists, communists and socialists.[11][12][13][14] Their stated focus is on fighting far-right and white supremacist ideologies directly, rather than on encouraging pro-left policy.[5]

The fact these groups are allowed to exist ought to be proof we live in a free society .

Sorry, but for someone who claims to be a grandmother, you sure don't have the maturity of one. We can all be against a Charles Manson or a Jeffrey Dahmer or similar. The immature may advocate we simply get a rope and hang them up by the closest tree. The mature person recognizes that would make us hypocritical and no different from them, and instead recognizes the importance of due process, and a fair and impartial trial, as they were accorded under the law. Your grandfather's generation that fought Hitler, Mussolini, etc. also recognized that. Otherwise, there would have been no trials at Nuremberg. And without Nuremberg, the allies would have been in the same league as those they condemned and hence hypocrites. Don't like these modern 'fascists' then debate them or their ideas, but don't behave like them or advocate for those that would deny them respectful debate. Grow up and recognize one can be quite against both fascism for what it is, and 'antifa' for how it behaves, and both need condemnation in a civil society.

I agree - if you are for Antifa, you are a horrible person. It's pretty black or white for sure.

Keith i never said in any my posts for anyone to go out and start beating or injuring someone .so dont try say i did. i feel confident that folks who. Commit hate crimes in canada will get caught and face a court . :130: and if the alt righters want to prance around. Then thats their choice .but if antifa shows up to counter. The kkk then great . I hope they dont just start beating up the alt righters and making them cry. As im not into violence. But if they do mix it up then i hope its not the intolerant alt righters who win the scrap .

Any rate the cops said at last tussle they dont know what side the ones theyvfound with weapons was going to join. They never found out. If they were going to join antifa then great they were prevented from being violent .if they from the alt righters then great they were stopped . :130:

Masked thugs at core of 'Antifa'

Imagine if white supremacists had attacked Canadian journalists covering their demonstration in Quebec City last Sunday, pushing one of them down a flight of stairs and smashing the television camera of another.

Imagine if, in the wake of that unprovoked assault, they threatened on social media to do it again, not just to those journalists, but to any journalists whose reporting angered them.

I can pretty much guarantee you media across Canada would have been outraged, and would have denounced it across the land for days on end, as would politicians of all stripes.

Except all of this did happen last week.

The only thing is, it wasn’t a white supremacist or neo-Nazi group that did it.

It was a so-called “anti-fascist” one.

Antifascists argue that after the horrors of chattel slavery and the Holocaust, physical violence against white supremacists is both ethically justifiable and strategically effective.
