So the Prime Minister of Canada shared his thoughts on Gay Rights in an article in a Gay magazine and he's on the cover of said magazine.

Shouldn't he be a real leader and try to divide people? A true modern leader like Steve or Donnie would try to demonize minorities in order to shore up support in the extreme right.

I still have no clue to what the point of this thread was. Does the OP hate gay people that she thought that our PM doing and interview for a magazine was some form of scandal? What and odd hateful thing to do.

Now if it was a porn magazine perhaps there would be some discussion of "well that was inappropriate" but it's just a regular old magazine doing interviews and having discussions on issues that affect Canadians as well as other people on the planet.

What an odd thread. Perhaps when the next PM is in office they will as well do interviews for magazines, and maybe someday the OP can see past sexual orientation as an issue to discourage and see that our government officials will have many interviews with many people.

Veovis, MJ is saying that it takes a real man to do a cover and interview with a magazine orientated editorally speaking for the gay community. MJ is challenging the idea that Andrew Sheer would do the same type of interview with the same magazine, not just any old magazine. What do you think the chances are? I'm going to say "Nil to zero." But maybe not the same reasons MJ would give us. I think Andrew Sheer is a real man, I just don't believe anyone has to give interviews to gay magazine writers to prove it.

What is the bar to being a "real man"? Used to be not eating quiche.

NAh, MJ was using the gay community for personal reasons which is a terrible way to use people.

Using people to call others terrible for invented reasons is just as abusive and non supportive as mocking those same people for different hateful reasons.

Hiding behind a "moral authority" while acting immoral is a sleazy action. It would just be nice to see people be accepting, not abusive in it's many different forms.

Some will just grasp whatever straw they have to attempt to gain traction. They don't care what the subliminal repercussions they cause on the people that they use to promote their own personal desire to be noticed, and to be recognised as important/intelligent as they, themselves feel they are.
