Driverless vehicles still have a long road ahead of them. From your article ...

"There are significant policy, technical, and operational issues that will need to be addressed in the coming years before fully automated trucks are common on Canadian roads," said government spokeswoman Delphine Denis.

I also find it curious how in one topic, your advocating employment and on this topic, your advocating job loss :135:

Also, you should be praising Suncor for testing out driverless vehicles (which, btw, are used in a very controlled environment on a very small footprint - not out on the open road)
Nobody wants to hear your opinion. They just want to hear their own opinion coming out of your mouth.

I would like to watch a driverless truck chain itself up. There are auto chains but they aren’t that effective.

But...but....but......a person still needs to be in that truck (vehicle)
So there is someone to blame when things go wrong.

Who's going to put the tire chains on?

Does this mean that while the truck is "self driving", the driver can go in the back and use the washroom, make supper, or have a nap? Because, the controls and the monitors can be seen from the sleeper, the driver shouldn't have to be actually be looking out the windshield or immediately behind the wheel, right?
