Some people would rather we pander to antisemites.

TIL Not choosing sides in a civil war = antisemitism.

Choosing to support terrorists who just suck money from UNWRA and stick the money in their Swiss bank account = stupid. Yasser Arafat was worth $3 billion - how does a terrorist achieve such wealth?

Having one rule for the Jews and another rule for everyone else is antisemitism to the core. There are various levels of severity for antisemitism. It's not Hitler level to allow every nation on earth to pick their capital city but the Jews, but it's still steeped in prejudice.

You seem to not understand how countries interact with other countries that are in a civil war. The world president is generally to not arbitrarily choose sides.

Riiiggghhhht, so you shouldn't chose sides between North Korea and South Korea or China and Tibet...

Isn't it choosing sides to decide to not put your embassy in the capital city of a country? If France put their main embassy in Quebec City on the grounds that it was the capital city of Quebec, a sovereign nation, wouldn't that be "choosing sides"?

Why is it a "bad" idea exactly? Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Pretending it isn't is a cowardly act, and hasn't worked to fix anything in 60 years. Good on Scheer for having the guts to follow the leader. Too bad our current ball-less boy blunder of a PM doesn't have the guts to do it.

Nikki Haley - what a great ambassador! I just love how she sticks it to those Israel hating leftist bags of crap at the UN.

60 years, no negotiated settlement. The status quo is not working. The only thing that matters is the Jews, Christians and Muslims all finding a way to live in peace. When the Muslims can't even acknowledge the Israeli state's existence (and the UN scumbags are complicit in this), how the hell do you negotiate anything?

Actually, if you look at the real situation, Israel has been unable to negotiate in good faith because of their PR electoral system. Israel is, based on recent history, a center right country, and the ruling coalitions always seem to depend on far right and militant tails that wag the dog.

Netanyahu's coalition includes the homophobic ultra orthodox Shas, and the Jewish Home party - who want nothing to do with any negotiations with Palestinians and wants to annex their lands, and will accept only a one state solution.

Given the nature of the coalition, and the religious zealot nature of both Shas and Jewish Home, there is little room for real negotiation of any kind - nor rational policies that respect any Palestinian rights.

Watching that video of Nikki Haley, I had a few takeaways:

1. I was horribly embarrassed that only the US and Israel voted against the *bleep* communist dictators in Cuba. Canada is so weak-kneed at the UN now, thanks to the spineless wimp PM we have.
2. UNESCO actually said that a religious site had to be protected FROM Israel? How dumb are these people?
3. I am so glad that Nikki Haley is there to stand up to the constant bullying Israel has to endure from those idiots at the UN. And I'm glad the US finally had the guts to put an Embassy in Jerusalem. Even Guatemala has the gonads to move their embassy. Where are the weak-kneed Liberals on this? Cowering in fear no doubt.

So you are saying that Israel alone bears the entire responsibility for why there is no negotiated settlement. How interesting.

Now, Andrew Scheer is parading around in traditional English business attire(Lol) pretending he's doing something important in the UK that the Prime Minister already has done months ago.

Thanks for the link, it's good to know that Scheer is beginning to establish relationships with people who, should his Party be elected to form our next Government, will be very important contacts for him.

Surely It's better for him to think ahead and be prepared, than to be elected PM having done no preparatory work whatsoever. So you should be commending, not criticizing him, for doing what he can to ensure he is ready to assume office should the electorate give him the opportunity to do so.
