Gloves off in Ontario PC leadership race
Battle lines have been drawn as former MPP Christine Elliott and political newcomer Caroline Mulroney join the Progressive Conservative leadership race in the wake of Patrick Brown’s dramatic demise.
Elliott tweeted “I’m in!” Thursday afternoon — her first Twitter post in more than two years — after a week of talking to Tory MPPs and party activists since Brown resigned over allegations of sexual impropriety.

I just don't understand how Doug Ford continues to be touted as a front runner in this contest. Is no one going to address the elephant in the room?
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/globe-investigation-the-ford-familys-history-with-drug-dealing/article12153014/
All the brothers -- including Doug -- in the so-called 'Ford Nation' are/were drug dealers, according to the Globe. And the Globe didn't get sued for this, so we might assume there is truth to it...!
Are they going to wait until he wins the leadership of the Ontario PC's before someone thinks to ask about it?

They did well as councillors by listening to their constituents and actually responding to them. I remember someone from a low income housing area complaining to Rob and Doug about the playground in the area. Within 2 weeks it was torn down and a new one built. Those people became diehard Forder's.
Most realise that Doug can't manage people above the councillor level, but his Forder's are a solid base to grow from. That's what keeps him in these races, kind of like Trump.

Other parties might lose a leader to a sexual misconduct charge. Or they might then hold an uninspiring leadership race. But ONLY the Ontario Tories could manage both PLUS the recently-resigned leader coming back claiming he never resigned and the race to replace him is invalid. Grab the popcorn, everyone.

Some interesting details about Patrick Browns accusers and major inconstancies in their stories are coming to light.
Example, he took me to the second story of his house. but the lady said she was in high school when this happened and at the time Brown lived in a one story house. When confronted she said it was after high school, how do you not remember if you where in High school or not during this type of incident?
Full story here.

Re: Gloves off in Ontario PC leadership race
It's a gong show. Even the writers for pro wrestling couldn't write this script. The contenders include the daughter of Brian Mulroney, flush with daddy's aircraft money, but without experience. She wants to start at the top. And there's Doug Ford. What a past he has. Now trying to be Trumpesque. There's also another who has one issue: the evils of sex education. She blames all of societie's woes on sex-ed. And finally the widow of Harper's finance minister. Probably the only sane one in the bunch.
Oh yeah. Almost forgot. Patrick Brown is now back in. He resigned, or was pushed out, from the job a few weeks ago and now wants it back. This deck is stacked with jokers.
And the sad part is, one of them has a shot at becoming premier this summer. Are these people really better than evil Kathleen Wynne?

Ontario Conservative MPP Randy Hillier is calling for a "significant" investigation into Patrick Brown's personal finances over allegations the former Tory leader engaged in "dirty and crooked politics" that breached the province's ethics rules.

Re: Gloves off in Ontario PC leadership race
The four remaining Ontario PC leadership contenders squabbled tonight over the future of Patrick Brown, with at least one saying the former leader should never be able to run under the Tory banner again.
During the last scheduled debate in Ottawa Wednesday, the leadership hopefuls differed on how best to handle the scandal-plagued Brown.

Like the Bclib leadership race ,this one also turns nasty.
