A powerful marketing network initiative championed by Destination BC is expected to give the province a distinct edge in an increasingly competitive global tourism market.

Canada's tourism vision
Twenty million travellers chose Canada in 2016.
That's up 11% from 2015—Canada is the place to visit. But better is always possible.
Our Vision focuses on marketing, access and products:

Stephen Fuhr MP ----Bringing in the heavy hitters to help the Okanagan's biggest industry!

Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and Tourism Alaina Lockhart, MP for spent the week here in the Okanagan.

she celebrated International Women’s Day meeting with local women entrepreneurs from our community.

she also attended the Canadian Accelerator Summit and the BC Tourism Industry Conference. We met with a number of great local businesses and stopped by Okanagan College to speak with some of the folks auditioning for Dragons' Den.

Thank you, Stephen Fuhr Mp and Alaina Lockart MP

Canada's New Tourism Vision

Beautiful landscapes. A diverse, welcoming culture. A rich, storied history. Canada's tourism industry truly is world-class. And every day, tour operators, retailers, hoteliers, restaurateurs—many small business owners—welcome thousands of tourists from around the world. It is these hardworking Canadians that give us a welcoming, inclusive and warm reputation for which we are famous.

"Canada is … a world unto itself, with cosmopolitan cities, barely explored natural wonders and everything in between."

–New York Times–

Blah blah blah is what all those links tell anyone. Dollar and the 150th were the reasons, period. The Feds spent a ton of money advertising our birthday and with the low dollar everyone came. If the numbers are higher this year I will stand corrected but if they are not then ....I guess I was right about all those links.
Why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.

maybe the Liberal-loving dumb dumbs here should take a long look in the mirror, as you bozos are just reaping what you sowed with all of the constant moronic lies you told during the Harper years. I wish the vacuous airhead PM we have now could succeed, but we all know that was never going to happen. I supported handing him a minority, but never a majority. He's controlled by idiot leftists pushing a brainless far left agenda. They have too much power and not enough brains. Continually trying to spin Liberal failure as success does nothing to help your cause, but of course, you have no other arrows in your quiver, so I know you will continue to embarrass yourself, so have at er.

I don't see Justin Trudeau attacking the very foundations of our democracy like the Conservatives did? How many times has Justin Trudeau Prorogued Parliament? How many times has Justin been found in contempt of parliament? In all of Canadian history since confederation, there have been 18 scandals involving the Prime Minister. The first was a bribery scandal that forced the resignation of Conservative John A McDonald. The most recent by Liberal Justin Trudeau taking a free helicopter ride from the Aga Khan. Of the remaining 16 scandals, half (8) were perpetrated by steve harper.
I have seen effort after effort by Justin trying to repair the damage the Conservatives have done to our Parliament. Justin could have unilaterally changed our election process with the election reform format of his choice (he certainly had the Mandate from the people in 2015), instead took it to an all-party committee and was defeated (Conservatives won). Justin appointed conservative, The Rt. Honourable Kim Campbell to chair to the most important committee in in Ottawa, the Committee on judicial reform. Justin appointed conservative the Rt Honourable Brian Mulroney to be the point man in the lead up to NAFTA. Justin Trudeau included the Conservatives Honourable Rona Ambrose and James Moore and the NDP’s strategist Brian Topp to help Chrystina Freeman with the NAFTA negotiations and education. Included an all-all party contingent of 300 members in the Paris Climate agreement. How many Liberal appointments did the Conservatives give the Liberals? How many international agreements did the Conservatives invite other party members to attend? In return for his efforts, The Liberals get spurious libel accusations in Parliament against an Honourable Minister and the former Prime Minister steve harper sniping from the sidelines insisting Canada just roll over and take anything the USA gives us in the NAFTA negotiations, undermining the process and Canada's bargaining position and everybody's future!
