MEC

Will be calling to cancel my membership. The company has changed too much and now giving into the terrorists, last straw. Over 35 years and now will get my gear elsewhere.

Re: MEC
I have to agree with MEC's decision. The only way the power of the NRA will be broken is to cut off their sources of funding which they use to pay off politicians. A bunch of major US companies have cut off support for the NRA. I hope more companies like MEC stop carrying products made by companies that support the NRA.
There's a change coming in the US. Old, rich, white guys aren't making it happen, it's kids, just like during the 60's.
These are the psychos that the NRA supports and vice versa. . .

As a business that needs to continue to bring in revenue they really had no choice. It shows them as being socially responsible and following the likes of Dick's and Walmart.

Yes, it is once again time for the youth of the world to step up and fix the mess created by their parents.

My Bolle ski goggles, my Bell cycling helmet, my Bushnell spotting scope......all from Vista. I don't give a rats patootie about the NRA or the eco terrorists. Especially the new generation hippies. Kelp eating tree hugging eco terrorists. Tiny minded myopic thinking left wing freaks. And I will not be a member of MEC because of then giving in to that group.
BTW some of the partners of Vista are Ducks Unlimited (700,000 members), Project Childsafe and many more groups. Yes and the NRA.

It's interesting to contemplate how and why one would frame those attempting to curtail the extraordinary power of the NRA as "terrorists".

The power of the NRA is just the power of the people. Its 5 million paid members speak for a hundred million more. There will be lots of people sending money. NRA will be fine.
Terrorist is rite. NRA members didnt kill any kids. No reason at all for any of this. Blame should lie with the sherriff.
Shame on MEC for turning sjw. They are no longer an option for me

I care about the NRA because every time a bunch of kids get murdered in the US, their lobbying for the rights of gun owners and makers is partly to blame. If it wasn't for the power of the NRA, I bet you gun control would have been brought in a long time ago in the US. Their society is fundamentally disfunctional. The last thing they need to add to the mix is virtually free access to murder machines.

Re: MEC
I find it funny that when it comes to multi million dollar decisions people think it was based on morals.
This is a calculated business decision, and based on emotional marketing I bet for every one they lose they gain 2 customers, many of whom have never gone hiking in their life but "agree" with this massive corporations "morals".

Bricks and mortar stores are going the way of the do-do, and the fiscally responsible socialist. I haven't been inside a MEC in years. Online is the way of the future for retail. Adapt or die.

Re: MEC
Good for MEC or whoever to look at this but if I want a Camelback hydration system or Bolle' shades I will not think twice. Research your grocery cart sometime and you will find that some of those items you purchase regularly are owned by THE TOBBACO COMPANIES!
Big business diversification is everywhere and where it leads I really have no time to worry about and as usual it will blow over.
I do hope these teenagers (kids) in the U.S. put the "fear of God" into these P.O.S. lifelong politicians who have exhibited nothing but corruption to line their friends and their own pockets for ages. Tell them all......."in a few years we will all be voting and you old white guys are going to be eradicated"...........some of the politicians will have to look that word up.
