Trudeau on steel trade

Postby Gone_Fishin » Mar 2nd, 2018, 7:50 pm

Can anyone fill me in on what he's saying?

He must be hitting the bong pretty hard after the stress of that trip to India.

In a way I feel sorry for him he just looks lost like a child. What did John Wayne say life is hard but it's harder if you're stupid.

The US has the most aggressively nationalistic president in a century. Canada has the addle-brained Trudeau. How’s that going to work out for us?

Justin is switching between French and English. Big deal, watch the whole speech.

No, no – Justin's just switching. [icon_lol2.gif]

This is like the “Dead Parrot” sketch, with John Cleese as the voters, Michael Palin as “justincase” and the parrot as Trudeau:

When Trump says, "I'm with stupid" he's actually right.

Trudeau is going to cost us thousands of good paying jobs with his absolute bungling of this file. Trump is eating him for breakfast.

On the actual topic of the steel tariffs though. Doesn’t Trump’s policies remind you a bit of Pierre Trudeau’s in this case?

Trump’s reckless protectionist agenda is going to hurt everyone – globally – and the Americans will not be immune. But let’s blame Trudeau. Trump’s steel tariffs could result in the loss of 40,000 jobs in Hamilton alone; but let’s blame Trudeau. As damaging as these outdated and proven failed policies will be to the global markets, the American economy will ultimately suffer the most (when Bush did it the American economy lost tens of thousands of manufacturing jobs; only some that were regained during Obama’s tenure and now at risk again). Meanwhile, the rest of the world prepares by signing new trade agreements that exclude the US. Thankfully, Canada is working in concert with these countries to prepare ourselves as best as possible. Yes, we can blame Trudeau for that too.

Trump is not going to survive his first term in office.
While the research shows that people with right-wing views tend to be less intelligent than those with left-wing views,
the continued excuse-making and support for Donald Trump indicates researchers have underestimated by how much.

I watched the whole thing and his gaffe occurs around the twelve minute mark and he was not switching between French and English at that point. Nice try though.

But please say something about the threat to Canadian jobs!

Say something like, "I hope this is a joke." Or, "Trump should put down the bong." Or, "how can any Canadian support Trump now?"

Don't focus on one as if the other isn't actually doing something to Canada that is a blindside to us!
