There are lawyers and others involved to make sure the right path is taken to make sure all funds are distributed appropriately from what I’ve heard.

So .. The total that gets disbursed is really only 6 million dollars .

I'm sure the credit card companies love this platform, since if I read it correctly they'll make 330K plus so far. You'd think that when it's for such a worthy cause they would do their part too, and back off somewhat on their cut, but I guess not.

What would have been appropriate is for the funds to have been used to cover all of the funeral costs that families are facing right now.
That money was raised to help these families and now is when they need the help.

The Stanley Cup has visited the hospital bedsides of Humboldt Broncos who survived a deadly bus crash.

Tom Straschnitzki, whose son Ryan Straschnitzki was badly injured in the crash, says he was in a waiting area at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on Friday night when a large box was wheeled in.

Recognizing the box from Stanley Cup presentations, he immediately suspected what was inside, and his suspicions were confirmed when someone wearing white gloves lifted the trophy from the case.

Tom Straschnitzki says Ryan's bed was the first stop, and he says his son's eyes grew wide as it was carried in.

$12,454,801 of $4.0M goal
Raised by 133,068 people in 10 days
An average of just over $93 per donation.

Update from Broncos is on the GoFundMe page.
Donations closing tomorrow at midnight.

Updated 4/16:

First and foremost, the Broncos’ volunteer board of directors would like to express their tremendous love and sincere gratitude to everyone who has generously donated time and money to support our organization and its families, as we navigate through this dark and heart-wrenching time.

Today, I would like to provide you with an update on how the Broncos’ organization plans to manage and disperse the financial support we have received.

We’ll accept donations through this GoFundMe until Wednesday, April 18th at 11:59PM MST. While no online donations will be accepted after that, the GoFundMe will remain live so we can continue to update everyone on our progress in allocating funds.

The funds donated through the GoFundMe campaign will be transferred to a newly created non-profit corporation known as "Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund Inc." to be allocated for their intended purpose.

An advisory committee is being established to make a recommendation for the allocation of these funds, which will be held in trust until that allocation occurs. Once we have formalized the composition of this committee, we will provide you with an update.

Once donations to the GoFundMe are off, people who still want to help can contact the Broncos here: https://humboldtstrong.info/contact/

A list of performers will be unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

Today is the last day to donate to a GoFundMe page for the Humboldt Broncos.

The fundraising campaign was started by Humboldt resident Sylvie Kellington who said she was hoping to raise $5,000.

But within 10 days, close to $14 million had been donated for the surviving players and their families.

It was on April 6 when the Broncos team bus collided with a transport truck, killing 16 members and support staff of the team and injuring 14 others.

A nation united around the small Saskatchewan town and people from Coast to Coast offered support emotionally and financially.

The crowdsourced fundraising campaign, believed to be the largest of its kind in Canadian history.

The GoFundMe page officially closes at midnight tonight.

Humboldt Broncos president Kevin Garinger said the team is “extremely grateful” for the donations and countless messages of support

“Our primary goal here is to help the families,” Garinger told CTV News Channel on Wednesday. “We didn’t have any expectations…it just speaks to the outpouring of support from our communities and our folks across our nations.”

Garinger said the team has retained legal counsel and accountants to help manage the money that will be transferred to the new Humboldt Broncos Memorial Fund. He said a committee will also be established to decide how the funds will be divided among the victims’ families.

The team has previously said it will continue to accept donations through another new organization, the Humboldt Strong Community Foundation.

Two Humboldt Broncos players are no longer listed in critical condition in a Saskatoon hospital following a crash that killed 16 people.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says the patients continue to receive treatment along with four others from the junior hockey team.

It would not provide further details on their conditions, saying only that none of the six are critical.

what is the statute of limitations on thoughts and prayers? like should we all stop now? will it make any more significant difference? especially with the go fund me windfall? im sure now that there is money the prayers dont matter as much as cold hard cash being dolled out for practical things. you have a spinal cord injury? prayers didnt help. here is some gofundme for a toronah game. and you get some thoughts and prayers cheers.

Prayers help bring hope and inner peace within some people. Plus let those same people know that others care about them and their loved ones.
So with that in mind I hope that those prayers don't end until the healing process is over with everyone involved.

so prayers are self serving so you can feel better? and are used to show that you care? what ever happened to a hug or a phone call? and who determines when the healing process ends? the self serving person who is praying?
