Oh? Lets see, i heard him compare the Israelis to nazi soldiers who would shoot sickly old women in their beds at point blank range...heard him compare Gaza to the nazi created Warsaw ghetto and heard him claim that Israel's goal is conquest.

Anyone with any sense of reality can tell you what's wrong with every one of those points and understand how many facts have to be ignored to come to these conclusions. No wonder you get all moist hearing this type.

I guess most people here need simple, easy to understand, uncomplicated black and white problems and solutions. Because of Israel there has been cruel injustice for some arabs and great opportunity for others - some arabs live to celebrate the death and dismemberment of jews and others are genuinely grateful for their presence - some jews want to see all arabs gone while others see them as a fine source of manual labour, and others see them as family. You can't just pick the ones you like or dislike as if you're exposing some great evil zionist policy.

This topic is just not as simple to caracterize as what the israel haters here love to pretend. But i'll try to keep it as simple as i can for you ...There won't be any more forced expulsion of Jews - not from there. Those days are over, get over it.

...doesn't mean you can't take a deep breath, clear your head, twist more facts and have another go.

Israelis want two-state solution, but don't believe it will happen
Mati Tuchfeld - Israel Hayom - Friday January 4 2013

Israel Hayom poll: 53.5% favor a two-state solution, 38% oppose the idea • Asked if the idea is feasible, the numbers are reversed: 40.6% say yes, 54.3% say no • 55% of respondents say Mahmoud Abbas is not a partner with whom the conflict can be resolved.

The majority of the Israeli public supports the idea of a two-state solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict, with 53.5 percent in favor, as opposed to 38%, a poll conducted by the New Wave Research firm for Israel Hayom shows.

Some 800 respondents were asked: "Do you support or oppose the idea of two states for two peoples, i.e., the creation of a Palestinian state independent from Israel?"

However, when asked what the chances are that such a solution will, in actuality, come to pass, the results flipped: 40.6% think that it is feasible, while 54.3% feel that a two-state solution to the conflict is not possible.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a gathering of Israel's worldwide ambassadors on Thursday that Israel would demand an end to the conflict in any renewed negotiations with the Palestinians.

The Israel Hayom poll suggest that the majority of the Israeli public does not trust Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, with 55% of respondents saying that Abbas is not a partner with whom the conflict can be resolved.

The poll was conducted between Jan. 1 and 3 among a random sample of 822 respondents from all sectors of the Israeli public from 18 years of age and up. The statistical margin of error is plus or minus 3.4%

While politicians from the Left have consistently insisted that Netanyahu freeze construction in settlements in Judea and Samaria to facilitate the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians, the public, it appears, is divided on this issue: 43.4% say that Israel should build more housing in Judea and Samaria whereas 43.5% say that construction must be halted.

But while the public is equally divided on Judea and Samaria, when it comes to east Jerusalem, opposition to construction is significantly lower: 46.4% say they favor construction in east Jerusalem whereas 39.5% say they are against it.

With less than three weeks before the upcoming elections on Jan. 22, the poll demonstrates that the top two parties are polling with disappointing results. Though Likud-Beytenu maintains a substantial lead over the other parties, the poll forecasts only 34 Knesset seats for the ruling party. Labor comes in second with 16 Knesset seats, only two seats more than the third largest party — Habayit Hayehudi — which polls at 14 seats.

The right-wing bloc, together with the ultra-Orthodox parties, polls at 64 seats. The left-wing bloc polls at 43 seats, and together with the Arab factions it climbs to 54 seats.

The Am Shalem ("Whole Nation") party, which according to this poll will meet the minimum threshold of votes and win two Knesset seats, defies classification and cannot be attributed to either bloc at this time.

Obviously, one of the factors that will affect the results of the election will be voter turnout. Every party's constituency has different voting patterns: there are parties whose support is more brittle and less disciplined, and there are parties that have solid throngs of supporters who would brave any weather to get to the polling booths to achieve their goals — the maximum number of Knesset seats for the party.

According to the poll, 60% of respondents said they will definitely vote on Jan. 22. If you take into account the additional respondents who said that there was a 75% chance that they would vote, you get a projected turnout of close to 75%, which is high in comparison with previous elections.

Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who has enlisted to help Kadima Chairman Shaul Mofaz in this election, said this week that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wasn't fit to be the prime minister. But the public feels differently.

When asked about the suitability of the various candidates for the position of prime minister, there was a huge gap between Netanyahu and the rest of the candidates. Altogether 43.2% of respondents said that Netanyahu was best suited for the position, while Tzipi Livni, a distant second, was described as best suited for the post by a mere 12.9%.

Meanwhile, Israel is closely monitoring the events beyond its northern border, hoping that neither of the warring sides in Syria will try to drag Israel into the mix. According to the poll, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's fate has essentially already been sealed: 68.9% of respondents say that Assad's regime will collapse soon, whereas only 11.4% say that Assad will remain in power.

And despite everything, the average Israeli is still optimistic: 61.5% of respondents describe themselves as optimistic when it comes to Israel's and the world's future as the fresh new year unfolds.

When asked to describe their level of optimism or pessimism on a personal level rather than a global sense, the optimists rose to an even higher percentage, with 76.2% describing themselves as optimistic.

Palestinian farmers invited to Israel expo
Wednesday, January 16, 2013 | Israel Today

In yet another piece of news contradicting claims that Israel "has it out" for the Palestinians, some 30 farmers from the Gaza Strip were invited to attend an agricultural expo in southern Israel earlier this month.

"Agriculture knows no borders," Uri Madar from the agriculture department at Israel's District Coordination Office told the Ynet news portal. "If things are calm on the security front, there is no reason not to boost agricultural and economical ties."

Ahmed Shafi, the head of the Gaza City Agricultural Association, also refuted accusations that Israel is imposing a blanket siege against Gaza with the aim of crippling its economy.

"Gaza exports produce to Europe every day," Shafi told Ynet. In fact, last month alone Gaza exported 200 tons of strawberries, 130 tons of tomatoes and over 100 million tons of flowers to Europe.

Those numbers used to be even greater when Gazans were permitted to also export large quantities of produce to Israel. But when Hamas seized control of Gaza in 2007, it imposed restrictions on doing business with Israel.

Many of the farmers attending the expo expressed hope that one day they would be able to again fully partner with their Israeli counterparts.

"We have every interest in working with our Israeli neighbors," Jamal Abu Al-Najjar was quoted as saying by French media.

This cooperation is evidence of the Israeli government's efforts to promote an economic peace that provides Palestinians with financial stability, if not with an independent state

Too bad they can't sell their crops, transport their crops, water their crops or even leave their homes because their entire country is under military occupation.

60%+ Palestinian unemployment.

Then again, when you have to go through 18 checkpoints on your way to work and it's a totally random emotionally charged crapshoot if you can get by or not, it tends to be difficult to show up for work on time.

But then again, it's all the Palestinians fault for fighting (with primitive weapons) against a illegal occupation and illegal settlements connected with "Jewish only" roads in their own country carried out by a country that gets 3 billion in military aid a year from the US.

Thanks for the update, Marty!

The Gaza solution: Gaza used to have a beautiful beach. It could be again.
In fact, Israel could make the entire venue a beach in one day:

Image

No more Hamas
No more insurgents
Take bulldozers to the dust that is left and open new beaches.
Hire all surviving Palestinians as Hotel custodial staff
Dear paranoid people who check behind your shower curtains for murderers;
If you do find one, what’s your plan ?

1. Hamas was democratically elected. They were elected because of the treatment of the Palestinians. So what's the plan there? Bomb the people more and oppress them more until they vote for their occupiers?

2. Ah there it is. The Palestinians are crazy terrorists, they are not fighting a illegal military occupation, Pacify until every hilltop in Palestine is a settlement. Oops too late!

According to the Israel haters it's a veritable miracle west bank arabs can even make it to an Israeli beach in the first place... but maybe they won't want to any more...

There's SKIN on those zionist beaches! :skyisfalling:

DANCING WITH THE ENEMY
PA education ministry unamused by Qalqilya school trip that ended with pupils dancing among bikini-clad women on Israeli shore

A Palestinian principal was punished over a spontaneous beach party that emerged during a field trip in Israel. The school head lost his job, and was reassigned to a different West Bank school. Mohammad Abu Samra, 33, says he landed in hot water when video and images of his pupils dancing on a beach in Jaffa with bikini-clad women and Israeli beachgoers were sent to the Palestinian Ministry of Education.

The incident took place at the close of the Qalqilya Al Salam Secondary School’s 11th- and 12th-grade field trip to Jaffa beach led by Abu Samra, reportedly the youngest principal in the history of the Palestinian Authority, according to the Dubai-based Al Nisr Gulf News. According to Abu Samra, an Israeli DJ began setting up on the beach as he attempted to load the buses to leave before their day permits expired.

“My pupils started dancing, and I also joined them at the beginning to let them have fun,” Abu Samra told the news agency.

“Volunteers shot a video and took a couple of still photos and forwarded them to the Palestinian Ministry of Education, with a complaint that the incident would imply that there was normalization of ties with Israel and it exposed the young generation of Palestinians to Israel’s illicit code of conduct,” he added.

Abu Samra was reassigned to a school about 30 miles away. Students reportedly have protested the education ministry’s actions.
