Police reportedly shoot two people in hunt for suspected kil

Postby diggerdick » Feb 8th, 2013, 12:11 am

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162- ... er-ex-cop/ (CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Police on the hunt for a former cop accused of killing three people shot multiple people themselves this morning after coming across vehicles that appeared to match the Nissan Titan that suspect Christopher Dorner is believed to be driving, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Dorner, 33, allegedly opened fire on police, injuring one officer before fleeing. Soon after, police believe Dorner ambushed two Riverside police officers, killing one.

Dorner also is wanted in the killings of Monica Quan, 28, and her fiance, Keith Lawrence, 27, who were found shot to death in their car in Irvine, Calif. Sunday night. Quan was an assistant women's basketball coach at Cal State Fullerton and Lawrence was a public safety officer at the University of Southern California.

Quan's father represented Dorner in front of the Board of Rights, a tribunal that ruled against Dorner when he was dismissed from the force in 2008, for making false statements in an investigation.

According to the Los Angeles Times, around 5:20 a.m. on Thursday, police searching for Dorner allegedly shot two people in Torrence, Calif. Both were reportedly transported to an area hospital. A second shooting occurred 25 minutes later involving Torrence police officers, according to the Times. No one was injured in the second incident.

The Times reports that police say Dorner was not involved in either of the later Thursday morning incidents.

It's Frightening to know How out of control The Los Angeles police department truly is. It's hard to tell Who's more evil the ex-cop Or the other cops who are shooting innocent people .

Mind-bogglingly dumb statement. Yes, it's horrible and extremely heinous what the LAPD did to those two ladies, but they did it by accident and it will be dealt with.

The ex-cop is murdering people through intentional targeting.

The LAPD is going to murder the suspect.

It's their job to bring him to court and uphold the law. However we all know he wont be taken alive. The fact they shot the heck out of that truck without even confirming who was inside is pretty telling.

Did the Latino women in the truck shoot at the officers or give them any reason to think they were in danger?

The police just started shooting.

LAPD - murder squad.

Really, now? If he walked into a police station and turned himself in right now, he will be alive.

If he ends up barricading himself in a house and fires at the police who are trying to apprehend him, then yes. He will end up dead, but it absolutely won't be murder.

The LAPD opened fire on 2 Latino Women. Did they look like a black man? Or did the LAPD just start shooting?

Given that info they will "shoot at the suspect" as soon as they see him and he will most likely duck behind something and "barricade" himself - and there is your justification for lethal force right there.

If he walked into a cop shop, they would shoot him on site and say he was reaching for something in his pocket - or something to that tune. Room full of cops - who's going to say anything? Put him in a cell with a paid police informant or someone they know will take care of the problem, ect ect.

This is a dirty police force hunting a cop killer who is hunting them for being dirty.

All bets are off, and LA has serious issues when the police are criminals to be feared.

1. They fired at a vehicle that appeared to be Dorner's, and it was approaching the house of one of the targets in his manifesto. They fired at the vehicle, without comparing the occupants with Dorner. Obviously a stupid, heinous move, but it happened.

2. Can you provide me with even a single example from the past 10 years where what you say actually happened, by the LAPD? Where they murdered someone who turned themselves in at the police station, or where a person was placed in jail only to be murdered by a police informant?

Because if you can't point out a single example of either of those things, your opinions hold no credence and I would be ashamed that you held the capability to even form them.

Only if he's able to get close enough to the station to do so. If he really is going after corrupt officers then there's a good chance he wouldn't get anywhere near the station without being shot.

I wonder if you are delusional, or just naive. He will not be taken alive under any circumstance. If he walked into the LAPD station hands up and on his knees they'd still kill him, guaranteed. If they will shoot at what appears to be his vehicle without even looking into the cab to confirm who is driving it...let alone having it be two WOMEN who are not even the same race.....

They're hunting him, he's hunting them. Not going to be a tidy ending to this one.

Mine bogglingly stupid :dyinglaughing:

So police forces have the right to open fire on vehicles that appear :eyeballspin: to be the suspects.

I don't condone what this ex officer did. but it is equally criminal what the LA police did opening fire in what seems to be unprofessional fearful rage.

I can assure you I am neither.

When was the last time the LAPD murdered someone who turned himself in?

If they shoot him, they'd never admit that he was turning himself in.

LOL - like the LAPD would actually say that happened? Only they would know and I doubt very much that is something they would admit to doing.
