I'd like to see this man have his day in court.
I think that what he has to say needs to be listened to and followed up on.

He had an opportunity for that; attempting to wage guerrilla warfare on the police is not an effective way to have ones' day in court.
Although he had infinite patience, he was annoyed,

I agree with many of these tweets, the whole sequence of events seems pretty sketchy

one station was saying that they heard one shot fired after the tear gas was fired. i would guess he committed suicide.

Par for the course for conspiracy theorists to jump all over this. I'm sure they'll make Dorner out to be a hero in short order.

[Updated at 9:14 p.m. ET] Earlier, we reported that U.S. Marshals Service district chief Kurt Ellingson told us a suspect tried to get out the back door of the cabin at some point today and was pushed back inside. But there are now conflicting reports about whether the suspect ever emerged.

Ellingson says authorities are not sure whether the suspect came out.

So the cops set fire to the cabin and another video shows the cabin burning and the cops having a shoot-out after the fire started. It also says they shot tear gas into the cabin.

Here's live feed from LA CBS and the news conference is about to start http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/live-video/

Just in from LAPD news conference: NO body found. NO body identified. As of 8 p.m., cabin too hot to safely go into. News reports of body found/Dorner found are FALSE.

The fire was burning for a really long time, probably not much left of the fellow if he was, in fact, inside the cabin. Might be hard to find remains amongst all that rubble.

I would take anything on YouTube with a grain of salt, especially when the person posting a video notes that he condensed 40 minutes of audio into five minutes in order to remove the blank spaces. (How do we know he only removed blank spaces?)

That said, what are the so many levels, baconbits?

My only issue with burning the cabin is, well, it's obvious the cops didn't want him alive. If he had his day in court, he'd be able to blow the whistle on things the LAPD don't want to see the light of day. (theoretically)

That said, Dorner wouldn't let himself get taken alive anyway. End result is the same.

Interesting that the suspect tied the owners of the cabin up and didn't kill them.

He would have gotten away if that cabin owner didn't manage to untie himself and alert police.

So the cop that didn't want to be a dirty cop ended up being caught/killed by his own kindness. He was being hunted by the LAPD murder squads, and as far as "criminal rules" go leaving living witnesses is a liability especially when your life is at risk.
