Missing submarine

Post by daveandanne »

Plane spots empty liferaft [ washed off of a ship, possibly ] and flares [not the color of the subs] What do these things say as to that far off of the coast?. The flares are from someone in need of help there no matter what color they are and the liferaft is another indicator of trouble. Possibly shot out the torpedo tube of the sub?. These need more investigation in that area.

In recent days several possible signals, including sounds and flares, that have been detected have turned out to be false alarms. Overnight, a British ship reported observing three orange and white flares, but they did not come from the vessel, Balbi said.

Plus, the spokesman has said previously, the flares aboard the San Juan are green and red.

Weird this missing sub. After a few lost subs over the years I understand there are locators/beacons that can be launched/let go to float up from the sub in a hurry. They are not located in the pressure hull. So a bit of a mystery(to me anyway) why one has not been identified as of yet.

Guessing perhaps a catastrophic failure and sub ended up below crush depth?? Lets hope not though and it is on the bottom intact waiting.

Weird the dog walker and the three dogs have not been found as well...

So whose flares are these and why is a liferaft in the same area? and are they sure it is empty because in that high of a sea storm if someone was in it they would be hanging on for dear life. Also if the batteries failed then the issue of gas from them arises and the sub fills with it, depleting the oxygen supply and even if they surfaced the high waves would sink them if they opened the hatch for air. The only choice left in those conditions would be to try and send some life jackets, or life raft out the torpedo tube if it could be done with air. The only other possibility is they surfaced and someone exited with the life raft and it's flares and the sub took on water right away and sunk. Hope none of this was the case and it does end well. As the missing dog walker seems to have a cell phone and no one can contact her I wonder if she has the app. to locate a missing cell phone or a stolen one for them to get a g.p.s location on it? I imagine this has all been tried though.

Hopes had been raised and dashed earlier after the sighting of a lifeboat and flares proved to be false alarms, as did a noise detected coming from the ocean.

I suggest that the missing submarine is probably underwater somewhere.

it sank and landed on MH 370.

Seriously though, hoping for a miracle here like the Chilean miners.

I could never be in a sub. How freaky would it be sitting on the bottom of the ocean hoping to get rescued.

Usually in a submarine explosion there is a debris field and the same goes for a torpedo tube discharge of debris is to show the searchers of that location that they are there if they cannot surface. It now makes sense to start the search from their last contact as they are doing now, as it seems they were in trouble then but they had to submerge to get out of the heavy seas [30 foot waves]? They would have thought they were ok but trouble occurred when they went back down and switched to electric propulsion. Since they had battery problems previously then they had more of them after going back underwater so they would not have gone much farther. The other explanation is that if they were near bottom and could not rise that they might have launched a torpedo and that would explain the explosion if it detonated on the ocean floor Hope this ends well for them.

Officials state otherwise:
According the officials, there would not be a debris field because an explosion at that depth would be considered an implosion.
