you mean kinda the same idea as the way we cook lobster?
Good point. What is the difference between boiling lobster alive and skinning animals alive?

Apparently lobsters don't have the nerve endings and they are put into boiling water head first. Instant death. If one wants to be more compassionate you can put them in the freezer for a few minutes to numb them.

If you numb them, that would mean that the feel. I am just pointing out how we can pick and choose what is inhuman and what is not.

Not necessarily means they feel - I just pointed out if someone is queasy about cooking lobsters and wants to feel better about it, throw them in the freezer first. No difference in chopping off a chicken's head or killing cattle. Whole different scenario in skinning an animal alive. We don't do that around these parts but other parts of the world use animals no differently than a tool or consider them pests. We use mouse traps.Libelle wrote:Fancy wrote:Apparently lobsters don't have the nerve endings and they are put into boiling water head first. Instant death. Yes I know for sure. They do not have vocal cords, it is impossible for them to "scream". The sound is just the rapidly escaping steam.
By-the-way, a dead lobster is unsafe to eat.
I do know they can't be dead before they are cooking.

So, it's worse if we harm humans? It's okay to harm animals?
And @quarsar... to even make fun of it?
I watched the China baby/truck video in full.
I had to turn off your animal video after about 2 minutes. It was more disturbing to me.

Toronto just pass a bylaw banning the importation/comsumption of shark fin products.
This is a huge step in the right direction, lets hope that more cities will get on board and eventually it will be a canada wide law.

these words of wisdom from......whom? What is the handle of the above poster?
Handles don't always mean much in what a person types, I think it's a cool name so there. Anyway, he/she might be right, some of these laws might prevent the cruel killings of some animals where we don't Need their parts. It's a start,,,,

So "baconbits" is no reflection of the needless killing and extraction of the choicest pieces of a pig to garnish their salad and baked potato's, has every right to condemn/dictate the use of selective parts of another animal? Would you feel the same about me if I chose "Bear Gaul Bladder Enthusiast"?
I am just doubting you'd pick that name so we are probably pretty safe. Its just a handle I am sure,,, but then we are a little off topic aren't we?
