Well, in that case, I think Hitler and the nazis were just running a really good business with the jews.

What's wrong with that?

@Quarsar.. you know that Bayers (the advil maker), was using the jews to test the product... business as usual, some suffered but it makes us better today.

What's wrong?

Anyways!

:backtotopic:

So if I understand properly, we should not care because they are animals? And because it's for business?

I think what some are saying is we don't like it but other countries don't see anything wrong with it as might have been thousands of years ago when killing wasnt as technical and humane as it is today for us here in Canada or the US. No it's not right when there are better ways but over there they have not seen that maybe. Or some countries like it that way still. Look at the dog fights in north America. We are not innocent of animal cruelty either.
It would knock me off my chair if you said you weren't a WSPA supporter and you were only pointing out yer views here.

@roadster: thanks for clearing that up.

And everybody is welcome to answer in this thread, in a respectful manner.

I'm do not support any pet organisation, I was just pointing out something that happens in China. Maybe not just in China, but in china for sure!

Back in the '70, seal hunting was wild in newfoundland... thanks to Brigitte Bardeau to point that out. We've come a long way.

There's always room for improvement.

Still, it looks to me that people just don't care that much because we're talking of animals, not humans.

Should not both species be treated the same? We all live on the same planet after all.

Ok, I thought the baby ones they club over the head were just for the pelts.

So, it's worse if we harm humans? It's okay to harm animals?
It starts with being humane if that means starting with humans that so be it. Does not mean it's okay to harm animals. There are too many practices in this world that are harmful to the body and it's easier to concentrate closer to home. Some are doing so by speaking out against rodeos and most circuses do not have the animals anymore.
