Hint: The same way the muzzle of a gun would get into the diabetic's mouth.

And without that "other source" then they are both quite harmless?

YES, guns are harmless UNTIL a human gets it in their hands.

Given your engaging almost everyone in some sort of argument, I smell a troll, and suggest you revisit how you articulate your points, not that you appear to have one besides simply being contrary.

Do you feel better now that you have been able to express yourself? What does this have to do with the topic? To me, this is the type of personality trait that would warrant prohibition from ever being able to own a firearm, bow, or slingshot. All this after only speaking and listening for 2 hours.
Good luck.

Well you see, this is where opinions, just as mental illness diagnosis, are subjective to a degree. It hasn't taken me anywhere near two hours, to identify a personality that befits a well practiced troll.

I don't own any firearms and have no desire to, so you can rest easy, whereas you on the other hand arrived here, and instantly went off, guns blazing at people you don't even know, whereas most newcomers are more inclined to test the waters, before diving in head first. I'd be concerned if you handle weapons, the same way you've handled your arrival here, so congrats, you qualify for prohibition too. :D

I agree with lone wolf on the culture of America. If you don't think morality has declined compare an R rated movie from 20 years ago to one today.

In Japan it wasn't until recently that people even considered using bike locks because people simply didn't steal bicycles. This is because the Japanse are taught respect of others - especially elders. It used to be like that here too, but now you have to nail everything down or it goes missing. Disrespect is rampant in the U.S. today. Same goes for Canada.

Country (year of most recent data) ------- Percent homicides involving a firearm
    Switzerland ('04)----------------------- 72.20%
    United States ('10)----------------------- 67.50%
    Sweden ('04)----------------------- 33.90%
    Canada ('09)----------------------- 32.00%
    Germany ('10)----------------------- 26.30%
    Spain ('09)----------------------- 21.80%
    Finland ('09)----------------------- 19.80%
    Israel ('07) -----------------------11.70%
    Australia ('09) -----------------------11.50%
    England & Wales ('10) -----------------------6.60%
    Japan ('08)----------------------- 1.80%

If the Japanese culture is so much safer, and so much more respectful of others (which I agree seems to be the case), why did they feel it necessary to so seriously restrict guns in their nice safe society? maybe they know something americans don't; like even in a safe society, it's safer not to have guns around ordinary folks on a bad day, or unstable people on any day. Maybe they even agree with GF, that guns are harmless till someone picks them up, so let's not have them around for people to just pick up.

It could be because Japan has one of the highest suicide rate in the world (much higher than the U.S. or Europe), or perhaps because gun power was invented by their mortal enemies - the Chinese.

Most probable, it's because gun rights was never a Japanese construct. The right to bear arms comes from England. Contrary to popular opinion, the have the second amendment did not invent a new right, rather it merely restates the English Common Law right from the 1600's.

Japanese restrictions on firearms go back to their defeat in WW2 and limitations imposed by Allied forces - no army, no militia, etc.

Clearly the more guns, the more murders by gun, but to me murder is just as wrong with a baseball bat as it is with a gun, so I don't understand why some people are so obsessed with murder by gun.

P.S. the U.S is in the middle of the pack for murder rate:
