It's SOOOOOOOOOOOO obvious that this is a chunk that got split off from DA14 I'm surprised I haven't seen it mentioned yet. Who knows how many other pieces are going to enter the atmosphere even if the main rock misses us?

What a ridiculous statement. That was a meteor shower ,NOT an asteroid fragment. Please educate yourself on the difference between the two.

Meteor showers come in multiples. There is no sign of ANYTHING but a single in the video footage. And I don't appreciate your tone.

From Castanet....

There was no immediate demonstrable connection between the Russian meteor and today`s asteroid fly-by.

Was it over 1000 people injured?
I haven't reviewed the url's posted, but the reports I have read all stated 500+, not 1000+.

The reports are still coming in, last night it was 100, then 500, now 1000 mostly small injuries, 2 people in critical condition and a zinc factory with a caved in roof.

Even though it came from the exact opposite direction a good 12 hours before DA14?

The scariest part, for me anyways, is how close it came to their
nuclear waste sites and Explosives grade plutonium facilities.

Sonic boom caused by meteorite hurtling above Russian town at 33,000mph smashes buildings and injures 1,000 people before the space rock crashes into frozen lake

Large object flashed across the sky at 9.20am local time
Pictures show a streak of smoke followed by several bright blasts of flames
82 of the injured are children and two are in intensive care
Landed in a lake near Chebarkul, a neighbouring town
6,000 square feet of a roof at a zinc factory collapsed
One local said it 'was like a scene from the Armageddon movie'
Same day as Asteroid 2012 DA14, which is due to skim Earth's orbit tonight

They said it exploded at 50km high in the atmosphere. 50m maybe but not 50km for sure... the atmosphere is not even that high.

Although the farther away from Earth the thinner the atmosphere, the atmosphere in fact extends more than 100 km from Earth.

Where is the obvious part. They both had different trajectories, so by your logic my dog barked just after my cat meowed therefore they are talking to each other.
