^^ And that is the whole point of a vacation :) I thought I'd be bored out of my mind the first time ... now I can't wait to go again. V-rated is gonna have such a good time ... the only problem is that leaving day comes way too soon :(

The booze cycle can be a difficult one to remove yourself from. (who would want to, though) Booze was included for me, and when I would relax on the beach on one of those canopied beds, a waitress would appear asking me for a refill any time my drink got down more than halfway. It was like they materialized out of thin air! And I don't think I ever said "no".

Now, if I could only get the same policy in place for my home & work... Image

Word to the wise; When you are on one of the frequent pee runs, never, and I mean never forget your flip flops. Admittedly I am referring to the mens room but you know what I mean. I have stood alongside some very inebriated dudes who were unaware that they were standing in a puddle of recycled beer and Margaritas.

Or worse. Just ask this guy.

so anyway - the pesticide - it's Masterline. everyone can form their own opinion
on how much they trust hotel managers and pesticides.

1
Officials have said it kills only pests such as mosquitoes, black flies and gnats, not beneficial bugs. They also said it is not harmful to animals or people and no precautions need to be taken during a spray.
The product's Material Data Safety Sheet, which is required under federal law, says its toxicity is "considered to be low" if it is absorbed through the skin, swallowed or inhaled. The sheet also says the chemical's cancer-causing potential is "extremely weak or nonexistent."

2
Here is a letter from a local nurse with some great points, i can only post in sections because it exceeds the comment field allowance: Hello, I am concerned as someone who works in healthcare and treats patients on a daily basis with unexplained neurological conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Supranuclear Palsy. It is now theorized within environmental health research that neurological diseases such as these have a strong correlation with environmental exposure to substances that in many cases have historically been deemed safe for human exposure. We are still in the process of determining what these substances are. Some of the more recent research is leading us to substances we may have thought were benign or occur at levels though to be too low to have an impact on health. There is a movement within environmental health circles to adhere to the Precautionary Principle, in which all options are discussed, reviewed with those that may be impacted by such decisions, and to proceed with caution, if at all, if there is potential for harm to either the environment or the health of individuals.

This isn't a thread about pesticides - it's about a trip someone is taking to enjoy themselves.

I figured out what three of those letters stand for:
S - SUN
T - TAN
F - FUN
Can't wait for my turn to take that trip.

Bet that dolphin would rather be in the ocean. I want to swim with wild dolphins.

We've been thinking about a Mexico trip for years but something always comes up, this time's it renos. I've never been in an airplane and would adore a week on the beach with the family, especially at this time of year. I'm jealous of you all who have had the opportunity.

I agree 100%

A bit off topic but back in 2002 I swam with a pod of wild Dusky Dolphins in New Zealand, absolutely incredible experience I'll never forget. You jump off the boat in front of them with snorkel gear, most of them swim right past you but I learned quickly if you dive down in the water and swim around they liked that and a couple of them circled around me a few times!
