We're not really a melting pot, we're a "multi-cultural mosaic", an idea which works when all the cultures want to live in peace and accept basic laws and freedoms, like respecting women by not beating them or honor-killing them, and allowing them to wear what they want in public. That kind of thing. Where our model breaks down is when people don't want to live in peace in our mosaic or respect our basic laws and freedoms. What do we do? No one has ever not respected them before. So there are two reactions - one reaction is to demand they respect these laws or leave, or the second one - bend over mercilessly for these people in the name of tolerance, looking the other way when honor-killings happen and women are disrespected, and scream "racist" and "bigot" at anyone who dares not look the other way. We can also continually blame "lone crazy people" when they self-detonate at Ariana Grande concerts and take out entire gay night-clubs with assault rifles, and completely turn a blind eye to the religion these people were following when they committed these acts. That's the dilemma really. At what point do we admit that our multi-cultural idea just doesn't work if one culture doesn't want to be a part of the mosaic, and doesn't want to abide by those rules and freedoms?

Alright I read the article and in general agree. Blame needs to be put where it belongs and the people who are responsible, held to the same standard you or I would be held to. That was way easier to type then put into action. It starts with everyday actions backing up what you say.

Our culture is one which has absorbed so many and yet when there is one not wishing to absorb into our mosaic, but rather impose a new structure onto what they've found here, how do we Canadians address it? Remove bacon from every menu? Reschedule events around Ramadan? Change our culture around pools/beaches/public areas?

I say if they came here, found it wanting, then find a country which they are more comfortable in. But I'm going to be told I'm wrong by lunatics who have never left Canada and have no idea that our Kumbaya hand-holding multi-culturalism is ONLY found here.

Let's say we look at history, and notice that when the CO2 reaches 500ppm, that the climate gets extremely destructive. If we are at 400 ppm, wouldn't it make sense that when we reach 500ppm, that the climate will go extreme?

Now, we can see what happens when a nation has more Islam. It gets more destructive. Canada has a very small Muslim population, so we aren't there, but when we become 20% Muslim, look out. That's just a fact that we have to deal with.
