Ukraine has been ripped off by the billionaire oligarchs for years

Israel Shamir describes the events as a “Brown Revolution” in which Ukraine was “taken over by a coalition of Ukrainian ultra-nationalists and (mainly Jewish) oligarchs” who obtained great wealth by pillaging Ukraine: “For years the country was ripped off by the oligarchs who siphoned off profits to Western banks, bringing it to the very edge of the abyss.”

It's ironic that one of the rallying cries for Russian nationalistic pride was their defeat of the Nazi's and now Putin is using similar propaganda to gain acceptance for his actions.

KIEV, Ukraine (JTA) — Three of Ukraine’s four billionaires are Jewish, according to the Ukrainian Korrespondent magazine’s annual list.
Igor Kolomoysky, 47, a co-owner of the Privat business group and president of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine, leads the Jewish billionaires on the list with $2.3 billion, down from $6.6 billion in 2008.
Victor Pinchuk, 48, is next at $2.2 billion, down from $8.8 billion, followed by Gennady Bogolyubov, 47, with $1.7 billion, down from $6.2 billion.
Heading the list is Rinat Akhmetov, who owns FC Shahtar Donetzk, with $9.6 billion — a more than threefold drop from $31.1 billion in 2008.
Eduard Dolinsky, executive director of the Ukrainian Jewish Committee, said the large number of Jews on the Korrespondent list creates a mixture of pride and anxiety within the country’s Jewish community. He said it could strengthen anti-Semitic stereotypes during financial crises in Ukraine, where Jews comprise approximately one half of 1 percent of the population of 46 million.

So the media here makes it sound like Putin is gobbling up land in Ukraine
and there is a battle going on between Russians and Ukrainians.

What really happened is rich billionaires in Ukraine have been siphoning
off $billions to the west for years, leaving the Ukrainians to earn about the same as El Salvadorans,
a country with very rich and very poor and not much more than Nigerians. And now, the IMF wants to
move in and make some deals that will leave the Ukrainians in debt - "IN PERPETUITY." - Forever.
Similar to some Canadians who make a deal with the bank, leaving them in debt forver.
These unhappy, bankrupt, broke Ukrainians are now easy to divided up - with some hating
the corrupt pro Russian government, and others hating the corrupt western *bleep* disturbers.

It's the billionaires of Ukraine that are the problem, like the super rich in places like El Salvador
where people don't seem to be able to stop killing each other.

George Soros admits to funding the Ukraine crisis

Now that the billionaire “chocolate king” Petro Poroshenko is president of Ukraine, the effort to wipe out all opposition in eastern Ukraine will pick up steam. Poroshenko is a near perfect choice for the globalists and EU apparatchiks. He sat on the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine and collaborated with the IMF, Wall Street and the European Commission.

*removed* When I posted this Putin was claimng the reason for the invasion of Ukraine was the curruption of the oligarchs. Similar to the aristocracy Hitler used to generate outrage and defend his actions. Add the fact that defeating the Nazi's is a huge source of nationalistic pride among Russians and you have irony. *removed*

Actually, corruption of the oligarchs was the main reason (supposedly) for Kiev's unrest and following events. Putin never mentioned anything about Ukrainian oligarchs as the reason for Crimean events - feel free to correct me. Crimean "invasion" always been about protecting Russian citizens and giving them a peaceful environment to make their democratic decision on whether or not to stay with new Ukraine.

after watching interviews with the people that live in eastern ukraine, i'm not so sure russia is the aggressor here, everyone that was interviewed basically said they do not want to be part of the ukraine and say the ukraine army was blindly shellung where they live and their houses and stuff . im not saying putin is some type of saint or his intentions are good, but im not sure the leader of the ukraine is much better
