I'm not worried what I say, if they see it now or they see it later, I said it. If you don't know maybe that would hurt you, I don't know. You should know though, so you don't get hurt, so you know what side to be on when it happens.

There have been reports that it was hit by a ground to air missile.

Why not give this thread a more descriptive title... It is big news

Three hundred people died in a matter of seconds.

Sad.

What mystery? An airliner has been possibly mistaken for a military aircraft, it was accidently shot down over a hostile area. Its happened before and it'll happen again, no mystery.

Do military aircraft usually fly at 30,000 feet?
I read it was a surface to air missile. Besides countless hours on call of duty I have no knowledge of them. Are they capable of hitting targets at such distances?

Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development said via Twitter that it is working to determine if any Canadians are among the victims.

Military aircraft could be flying at 30,000ft, or higher or lower, depending on type of aircraft and mission. Right now it is being reported that the surface to air missile suspected as being used can hit targets up to 72,000 feet.

Absolutely, under many circustances, most military transport flights use the same airways and altitudes as civilian flights using similar aircraft.

There are various types of SAMs with various functions and capabilities, but there most certainly are variants that are very capable of hitting such a target.

Pretty ridiculous that rebels are trying to say Ukraine shot it down, the rebels are the only ones who have shot down aircraft and Ukraine would have no reason to shoot anything out of the air as the rebels don't use aircraft.
