Controls on carrying weapons for self-defence eased

Post by Glacier »

Do you think this is a good idea, and will it lead to a safer society?

Israel is to ease controls on carrying weapons for self-defence after a deadly Palestinian attack on a Jerusalem synagogue, Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said on Tuesday.

Yes definitely.
Unarmed citizens are defenceless and self defence type training is mostly a joke for the average person when the assailants are using weapons.

Considering a unarmed Palestinian child can be shot on site, I don't see why there should be any reason to hide the contrast anymore.

Apartheid redefined.

A few hours after the attack in Jerusalem, journalist Emily Amrousi said at a conference in Eilat that the life of a single Jewish child was more important to her than the lives of thousands of Palestinian children. The audience’s response was clearly favorable; I think there was even some applause.

thinking about before somebody came along and told

The contrast is that when an innocent Palestinian child is killed it is because some Hamas extremist coward deliberately used them as a human shield to be sacrificed and used for media effect, while when an innocent Israeli child is killed it is because the Hamas cowards simply want to indiscriminately kill innocents because their ideology is pure hate.

One media person makes a reference to the life of a single Jewish child being more important to her than the lives of thousands of Palestinian children; and meanwhile, back in Gaza, Hamas continues to perpetuate and spread their manifesto of raw hate calling for the death of every single Israeli citizen and the nation state of Israel to be completely wiped from existence - and you think that this somehow validates your terrorist sympathies? You are so naïve in your thinking.

Idaho toddler shoots and kills his mother inside Walmart

Police in Idaho say a two-year-old boy shot and killed his 29-year-old mother in a Walmart store after finding the woman’s weapon in her purse.

The Kootenai County sheriff’s office said the woman was shopping with her son and three other children in the store’s Hayden, Idaho, location when the boy, sitting in the front of the shopping cart, found the gun and shot the woman at about 10.20am local time.

The sheriff’s spokesman Stu Miller said the woman’s family had come to the area to visit relatives. The woman, whose identity was not released, had a concealed weapons permit.

Miller said the young boy had reached into the victim’s purse and grabbed a small caliber handgun, which discharged once. “It appears to be a pretty tragic accident,” he added.

The woman’s husband was not in the store when the shooting happened. Miller said the man arrived shortly after the shooting. All the children were taken to a relative’s house.

The shooting happened near the store’s electronics section. Police reviewed store video to determine the shooting was accidental, the Associated Press and local media reported.

A Walmart spokesperson called the incident “very sad,” and said the store was “fully cooperating with the sheriffs deputies as they investigate this matter.”

The store will be closed for the evening, and reopen at 6am Wednesday, according to information provided to the sheriff’s office by store managers.

Hayden is a northern Idaho town of 13,000 people, about 35 miles east of Spokane, Washington.

In November, a woman in Oklahoma was fatally shot by her three-year-old with a semi-automatic handgun. Police said it appeared the child picked up the gun while his mother was changing a one-year-old’s diaper.

Yes, but only because Israel is basically at war every day of its existence. I don't think it would make life any safer here in North America.
