Radio Scrap files for bankruptcy
The 94 years old chain filed for bankruptcy. Definitely not a good year in the retail industry

The company took a turn for the worse when they decided to let their A.I. do the thinking for them.
Note the wood panelling.

I'd rather see their parent company close their stores then see Best Buy go. Don't know why, I just feel more comfortable in BB and they seem to have more selection in stock.

I just can't see them competing with online world. They're already struggling with it, and it will only get worse. They do have a service department which has upper hand over online, but will it be enough to save a giant store that doesn't offer anything exclusive and giant staff? Don't know.

I cringe at the day that I won't be able to hold a product in my hand before I purchase it.
As for Radio Shack goes, I'd love to get some of those science kits before they close their doors. They always were some of my favorite Christmas gifts as a kid :)
I bought my first non Commodore computer there ... a Tandy 1000TX complete with an RGB monitor and Thexder, now that was an awesome game :)

My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

Has a TRS-80 Model I
Older brother bought it used, but it had visicalc and a bunch of games on it.
The Source just doesn't have the same feel to it that the old Radio Shack had. But I guess times change.

I remember the Radio Shack in Vernon when it was behind KFC on 32nd Ave. We'd rent a VCR and a couple of movies there (usually Star Wars and Superman) for $50 LOL!
And what did we ever do with out the Battery of the Month Club? LOL!
