The saga that started with the Big Bang is still continuing throughout space. The Earth is only one of the trillions of solid/liquid/gaseous bodies that continues to go through constant change. It is the reality that also evolving living masses of cells have to adapt to on Earth.

Trying to keep up all these erupting volcanoes.... Again less than a week ago Coast Rica Turrialba volcano erupts yesterday.

Volcano ERUPTS Without Warning After “Experts” Assure that Earthquake “Swarms” Meant Nothing!

Image

A volcano erupted suddenly in central Costa Rica today, belching smoke and ash up to 3,000m (9,840ft) into the air. The volcanic ash is settling on several cities, sending hundreds of people to hospitals, complaining of breathing difficulties and skin problems. This took place despite assurances from Geological "experts" who said that swarms of small earthquakes in and near the volcano for the past few weeks "are not signs of an imminent eruption." Some of those same "experts" have said the exact same words about three volcanoes on the US west coast which have suddenly begun experiencing earthquake swarms: Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Hood and Mt. Rainier in Oregon and Washington states.

Interesting about the U.S. northwest activity. What about Mt. Baker or British Columbia's very own old volcano, Garibaldi, isn't it? And there's another one across the Columbia River from Mt. Hood in Washington, Mt. Adams I believe.

And what is the point in here, apart from the fact that almost anything about volcanic activity is fascinating . . . that this simultaneous activity is connected, or what?

Interesting story on current active volcanoes world wide...

40 Volcanoes Are Erupting Right Now As The Crust Of The Earth Becomes Increasingly Unstable

Image

Have you noticed that our planet has begun to shake, rattle and roll? Over the past few days we have seen major volcanic eruptions in Costa Rica and Indonesia, and according to Volcano Discovery 40 volcanoes around the planet are erupting right now as you read this article. Meanwhile, earthquakes continue to shake the globe with alarming regularity. Just last week, Ecuador was hit by a magnitude 6.7 earthquake and a magnitude 6.8 earthquake in rapid succession. Overall, there have been more than 3,000 earthquakes of magnitude 1.5 or greater within the past month globally. So yes, I write constantly about the rapidly accelerating deterioration of our financial system, but the coming “collapse” is not just about money. I am convinced that we are entering a “perfect storm” in which a confluence of factors will absolutely cripple society and bring about changes that most of us would not even dare to imagine right now.

Let’s talk about the volcanic eruptions that we have seen in recent days. The eruption down in Costa Rica took authorities completely by surprise, and a thick layer of dust and ash is coating vehicles and buildings 30 miles away in the capital city of San Jose…

So the Earth's crust is becoming more unstable. World-wide? Why is that?

IMO volcanic activity has been a part of life on earth ever since the thin crust began to form around the predominantly molten mass that formed due to pressure from accumulated space junk. One edge of each plate crust is slowly subducting into the molten mass while the other, with its many volcanoes is climbing on top of the subducting edge.

We have not had a truly super volcano like Yellowstone since there were relatively few people on earth. The next one will be tomorrow or a million years from now. Life forms will survive on Earth but there is no certainty or guarantee that humans will be one of those life forms.

Enjoy each day.

Triple threat.....

Triple volcano eruptions

Eruptions at three volcanoes in Indonesia have darkened skies in parts of the archipelago and disrupted some flights.

Mount Rinjani on Lombok Island near Bali, the Sinabung volcano on Sumatra Island and Mount Gamalama in the Moluccas chain of islands have all erupted in the past couple of days.

No one has been injured, but flights at two airports have been disrupted.

Volcano spews ash over Mexico City

Mexico City residents awoke on Monday to cars coated in a light dusting of ash after the Popocatepetl volcano erupted for about nine hours, according to the national disaster prevention agency.

MEXICO CITY—Mexico’s national disaster prevention agency says the Popocatepetl volcano has spewed ash over Mexico City and neighbouring areas.

The agency says the volcano erupted for about nine hours, until 3 a.m.

Mexico City residents awoke Monday to cars coated in a light dusting of ash. The disaster agency’s monitoring cameras showed glowing rocks shot from the volcano’s crater landing more than a half-mile (1,000 metres) down its slope.

About 25 million people live within 62 miles (100 kilometres) of the crater of the 17,797-foot (5,426-meter) stratovolcano.

I expect that as the earth cools the outer crust becomes thicker but the bending and breaking caused by subduction would give rise to vents and nullify any "sealing" effect the crust might have.

It makes one wonder if billions of years of subduction have caused the entire outer crust of the earth to cycle through the magma and renew the crust ??

My appreciation to R Ransom for writing the article and "Terris" for posting it. Very informative. I had no idea.

The fact that it contains information about other nearby locations is a huge bonus.

Thanks to all responsible for the article being drafted and posted.

Westside has clear volcanic rock along Boucherie Road. We stopped in to see the wild flowers and marvel at the obvious bubble formations as the lava cooled, air forced its way up and created an interesting geological formation.

My favourite book regarding the geology of the Okanagan is Geology of the Kelowna Area and Origin of the Okanagan Valley British Columbia by the Kelowna Geology Committee.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Fate unclear of tourists who declined to leave slopes of erupting Indonesian volcano.

JAKARTA – Hundreds of climbers have been brought down safely from the slopes of an Indonesian volcano that erupted this week, the disaster agency said on Thursday, although the fate of several daredevil tourists who declined to leave was not clear.

More than 1,000 tourists including 639 foreigners were in Mount Rinjani National Park when Barujari, a smaller volcano within Mount Rinjani, began erupting on Tuesday, sending a plume of ash into the sky which fell back to coat vegetation.
