With all the major earthquake activity lately....it's going to awaken these giants.

Keep in mind, these are the ones we see....then there are the underwater volcanoes we don't see awakening also.

There the ones warming the oceans.....

Supervolcano Near Naples Appears To Be Nearing Eruption

A supervolcano near Naples seems to be nearing its critical pressure point. This is the same volcano that caused the largest eruption in the history of Europe. (Not good!)

Mexico's Colima volcano erupts, making 1.5 mile ash plume

MEXICO CITY, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Mexico's Ministry of Interior said the Colima volcano has generated eruptions that have created ash plumes up to 1,000 feet tall.

Luis Felipe Puente Espinosa, the Interior Ministry's public safety coordinator, said in a statement that the latest eruption occurred early Tuesday, and created an ash plume about 1.5 miles tall. Ash could fall up to 30 miles away from the volcano, he said.

The Colima volcano -- known by Mexicans as the Volcano of Fire -- is in Mexico's Colima state, a small state on the Pacific coast. Authorities have also declared an exclusion zone in neighboring Jalisco state.

Bogoslof volcano under heightened alert after another eruption

The Aleutian Islands' still-rumbling Bogoslof volcano is once again under higher alert levels after the latest of several eruptions there in the past week.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory lists the alert level for Bogoslof, about 60 miles west of Unalaska, as "warning" and its aviation color as red. The volcano shifted among higher alert levels during three additional eruptions last week.

Seismic data and satellite images showed an "ash-producing eruption" and cloud at the volcano just after 2 p.m. Monday, following at least three last week that reshaped much of low-lying

Peru’s Sabancaya volcano roars to life

LIMA, PERU (REUTERS) - Peru's Sabancaya volcano rumbled back to life on Monday (Dec 26), spewing ash and smoke some 3,500m into the sky, in the latest of a series of explosions.

The local authorities warned surrounding communities could be affected by ash from the volcano, which came to life at 8.24am local time on Monday (9.24pm on Monday Singapore time).

Hey Queen K!!!!

How about this one! 2 volcanoes erupt only 60 miles from each other!!!! Bet that hasn't happened since the dinosaur days!

Peru volcanoes explode into life triggering state of emergency and MASS EVACUATION

TWO volcanoes in Peru have erupted into life, just 60 miles apart sparking widespread fears and authorities have declared a state of emergency and started a mass evacuation.

The Sabancaya volcano started spewing ash and smoke some 3,500 meters (11,500 feet) into the air on Monday, in the latest in a series of worrying explosions in the south of the South American country.

The volcano, situated just 40 miles from Peru’s second most populous city Arequipa in the Andes, returned to life at 8.24am on Monday just over a week after it began activity on December 16.

Local authorities have warned the local inhabitants they are likely to be affected by the ash from the 20,000-ft (6,000m) volcano whose name translates at ‘tongue of fire’ in the local dialect of Quechua.

Brief eruption, but I ask where does all the ash fall then? It's renewing the soil somewhere.

Scientists warn: Super volcano has reached critical phase

Image

Campi Flegrei is one of world's most dangerous super volcanoes, and now scientists warn that it has reached critical phase and could erupt, which would mean apocalyptic consequences.

A super volcano is defined as a volcano that is able to sling more than than 1,000 cubic kilometers of mass into the atmosphere.

By comparison, one of the most violent eruptions in modern times, Karakatau in 1883, erupted with some 30 cubic kilometers "ejekta".

Large parts of the volcano is actually submerged in the Mediterranean, and in total it consists of 24 craters, several geysers and large warm areas.

The name Campi Flegrei actually means "burning plains", and the caldera, or crater, is an entire 7.5 km in diameter.

However, such time estimates increase significantly, up to even more than 1000 years, if Monte Nuovo is not assumed to be the beginning of a new eruptive epoch and/or only western side activity is considered.

The last event occurred in 1538, leaving a cone called Monte Nuovo. From a geologic standpoint, in the past 15,000 years Campi Flegrei went through three epochs of frequent and closely spaced eruptions interrupted by periods of quiescence, some lasting thousands of years
