A commentary on China's official news agency Xinhua accused Washington of breaking its promise not to support Tibet's independence by going ahead with the meeting.

Implying that any time Obama meets with the Dalai Lama, it means he is therefore supporting Tibetan independence.

There's that black and white, either-or, if-then, us-or-them thinking at play. And unfortunately, people all over the world turn off their brains and swallow nonsense junk messages like this one every day.

Yeah, if ‘the Dalai Lama is actually a hateful bigoted racist Islamophobe’ then China probably isn't upset at all about him trying to get back into Tibet. They just have to keep up a good front and let someone else get him there so they can save face about it.
