The Left’s Phony War on Guns
"Their fight isn't about stopping shooters, it’s about identity politics.
[...]
Consider the history of “Project Exile,” an experimental program in which Virginia firearms offenders were shifted to federal court and prosecuted under the Gun Control Act of 1968, meaning a minimum of five years in the federal penitentiary for those convicted. Who was in support of using the Gun Control Act to control gun crime? The NRA, for one. Who opposed it? The Congressional Black Caucus, civil-liberties groups, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, etc.
If you can figure out why that is, then you’ll know why our gun-control debate is mainly about punishing the law-abiding and ignoring violent criminals.
Chicago has Wild West levels of homicide. (Worse, in fact; the criminality and violence of the ungoverned West has been greatly exaggerated, and some of those old cow towns had lower per capita crime rates back when they had no formal government than they do today.) Do you know what kind of crime illegal possession of a firearm is in the state of Illinois? It is a misdemeanor."

141 murders in Chicago alone so far this year by April.
NRA is right, no problem here, move a long, move along.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

The NRA actually wants tougher gun laws, but many on the left do not. From the article in the OP:
Who was in support of using the Gun Control Act to control gun crime? The NRA, for one. Who opposed it? The Congressional Black Caucus, civil-liberties groups, Families Against Mandatory Minimums, etc.

You need to choose better sources for your information. If you choose a far-right whackadoodle site like the National Review, you can be sure they are going to tell you what you want to hear, no matter how ridiculous.
Yes, the NRA loves more gun laws.

The NRA is the very definition of a terrorist organization.

NRA defends blocking bill to stop terrorists getting guns as it emerges TWO THOUSAND suspected extremists have freely purchased firearms in the U.S.

The National Rifle Association has claimed it is defending the Constitution by sinking legislation which would stop suspected terrorists freely buying guns in the U.S.
The gun lobby group said that a proposed law to ban extremists from buying a firearm would harm law-abiding citizens - and so is standing in its way.
It came as government figures show that 2,043 terror suspects on the FBI's watchlist have been allowed to purchase firearms in the last decade - fueling fears that terrorists are taking advantage of lax U.S. gun laws to arm themselves under the radar.

Yes, far right. That's why they support legalizing marijuana. Since they are far right, I'm changing my opinion to be against marijuana legalization because I don't want to be aligned with far right news sites.
The NRA loves guns, but they don't love abuse of guns. The far left on the other hand hates guns, but doesn't like it when gun crimes are taken seriously. Maybe the far left are the real terrorists.

It has always been the goal of the left to disarm the right in any Communist take over....
Goal # 3 for take over of the U.S.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

“3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.”
Are you suggesting that this is written by some left leaning Communist as the plan to take over the United States or that this is a by someone on the right?
Here’s a little help.
“It has always been the goal of the left to disarm the right in any Communist take over....”
“Willard Cleon Skousen (January 20, 1913 – January 9, 2006) was an American conservative author and faith-based political theorist[1] who believed that the United States Constitution creates a Christian theocracy.[2] He was also a prolific popularizer among Latter-day Saints (Mormons) of their theology. A notable anti-communist and supporter of the John Birch Society”

It's hard to compete with links from the freepers and National Review, but here is the smartest president in decades explaining to a gun nut, his position on guns. This is from a townhall just before Orlando.
