KKK making a comeback

I can recollect any number of occasions in my lifetime (67 years) that s a story is published that the KKK is experiencing a revival. And some bored journalist will always dig up the old story of the KKK in Canada. Ho hum.

Five thousand out of the 359 million people in North America are stated to belong to the KKK. Given past history it is likely that the CSIS, the RCMP and the FBI have as many White KKK suits as the misfits who believe KKK philosophy. As a general group they are generally too emotional and too ignorant (of reality) to be of significant lasting danger to society.

The radical christians that includes the klan feel that to discriminate with prejudice is justified and backed up by their book they call holy. They will continue to spread their hateful for as long as they are tolerated. Groups & individuals that attempt to diminish the gravity of the actions of these extremists are de facto supporters.

That is a trait of every violent extremist group. Fortunately the number and percentage of such people is small and ruled by ignorance of the real world. In North America education and a lack of tolerance for their stupidity by the masses and proactive action by the various police forces has kept them in check since the horrible situation in Selma and Mississippi a number of years ago.

Our North American Society still has a long way to go to eliminate racism and intolerance but we are definitely moving in the right direction, all-be-it not fast enough for many people. Far better than some Mid East Countries where movement is in the opposite direction, especially in relation to the Muslims.

but we as a country like the americans support some the worst offenders . like saudi ,like the fool running the ukraine now ,like china ,pakistan turkey . all bad actors .

there are more groups in the usa that are just like the kkk in nature .westbouro comes to mind ,the tea party ,and people do tolorate them because they point to freedom of speavh laws and defend them .even if you just talk about gay marrage ,the kkk like opposition is foaming at the mouth on how the have a right to hate enshrined in their heratige . butit wont be descibed as hate, instead we hear how gay marriage infringes on their rights and it is moraly wrong .


i would like to say that no group like the kkk will ever become main stream but i cant. i see more label indetification and self focus being the trend for forseable future

IMO you are overlooking the fact that, with the exception of the extremist Muslims at the moment, there is no group large enough to overthrow the vast majority of decent people just trying to get by one day at a time in each of the countries that you listed in your comments.

to unbiased . are really going to claim that christians never joined gangs like kkk? they never blew up a building in oklahoma ? they never burned innocent women in salem mass? they never conducted a inquasition in which anyone who didnt pledge faith to the christian bible were tortured . you going to say christians never attacked abortion clinics or staff that worked there ?



to join the kkk you must be white and christian . that is the criteria and just because you ignore that , doesnt make it suddenly untrue

Very clearly, you do not have any idea what it really means to be a Christian.

The Klan may say whatever they want in an effort to gloss over their ugliness. Anyone with any intelligence knows what they really are and what the are not.

The trouble is, crybabycry, that no one but representatives of mankind (m/f) defines who or what is a Christian. It is self identify. And a lot of people who are "ugly" in their beliefs to many if not most of us would claim to be Christian, and maybe claim to be the "real" ones, and maybe even more real as a Christian than you. So far, as I've said in other posts, God has only revealed himself (herself?) through mankind, and I hasten to add men (and women, Aimee S. Mc. e.g.) that is what they claim and if people believe them, they gain immense power. Some of the rest of us think it's all fraud.

^^^Sure, but some people claim to be vegetarians even though they occasionally eat fish and/or chicken.

People say all kinds of things which clearly contradict their actions. It's nothing new and it's not too difficult to spot.

The Ku Klux Klan had been fighting a series of court battles with the state of Missouri ever since 1994, when a Klan member applied to participate in the state's highway cleanup program and "adopt" a stretch of Interstate 55 south of St. Louis. The Missouri Department of Transportation rejected the application, claiming that under the federal Civil Rights Act, it could refuse the use of federal money to "further or subsidize racial discrimination." However, a U.S. District Court judge ruled that Missouri's refusal to allow the Klan to participate in the Adopt-a-Highway program was unconstitutional, and when the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals confirmed that finding on appeal in March 2000, the state had to erect signs announcing the Klan's sponsorship of a portion of I-55. The Missouri Legislature then voted to name the stretch of highway adopted by the Klan the "Rosa Parks Highway," in honor of the civil rights hero from Alabama whose refusal to give up her bus seat to a white passenger in 1955 led to her arrest and then a boycott of the Montgomery bus lines.
