Interesting read; it certainly sounds as though the FBI didn't do enough digging to determine whether or not their source of information may have had a political agenda. So even if we assume that the FBI didn't have such an agenda themselves, it still points to sloppy workmanship on their part.

It's not surprising they didn't want this memo released.

It's important to understand that the memo was prepared by a politician and not an independent or non-partisan expert. The annotated copy makes for interesting reading:

This FISA warrant the memo calls into question took over a year to receive and was read by four judges before approval. It's a ridiculous accusation to say all four were in on some conspiracy but coming from Nunes, that shouldn't shock anyone. What is shocking however, is how many Republicans are willing to put thier credibility on the line for this embarrassingly transparent partisan hack job.

The dossier was the only reason the FBI received warrants and opened an investigation into Russian collusion. So if a dossier written by a former secret service agent, the same guy who brought down FIFA, isn't credible enough to open an investigation, then why is Nunes leading an investigation into the FBI that came as a result of a "fake news" story out of Fox about Obama tapping Trump's phone?

The “memo” was four pages, from a document that would have been a couple dozen of pages at least. What other evidence was included in the request for a warrant that provided enough reason for a judge to grant the request? Indeed, the DNC failed the American electorate completely by pushing Clinton as their candidate. Remember though, it is the Republicans who allowed the imbecile Trump to be their nominee. Quite the cost being paid in America right now.

Within the span of the last year, Trump and the GOP have smeared the reputations of countless fellow Republicans. Comey, Mueller, McCain, Bannon, Rosenberg, and Sessions are just a few that come to mind. These were lifelong Republicans that they managed to turn thier base against with relative ease.

So it isn't a stretch to say that over the years the GOP have become extremely effective in the art of the smear campaign. Knowing thier prowess and that Hillary had been in the crosshairs of thier smear machine for the better part of 10 years, it's actually quite surprising that she still managed to win the popular vote.

I also think that if one takes into account the current governing party's unpresidented level of maleficence and ineptitude, that regardless of who the Democrat's candidate was, they would be doing a far better job and the US wouldn't be the embarrassment it's become with the "Banana Republicans" running the show.
