All too often, these forwarded missives contained lies about Republicans. Remember the list of quotes Vice President Dan Quayle was alleged to have said? Many were manufactured. Then there was the e-mail purporting to reveal scientific evidence that George W. Bush had the lowest IQ of any president in the last 50 years. It turns out that was a lie, too.

That's an opinion piece on a right-wing site. What do you expect. I want evidence worthy of a research paper, which is what I provided (research papers).

Additionally, this dumb article equates liberal with Democrat and conservative with Republican. The fact is that many liberal minded individuals would be seen as libertarian or similar and certainly not old-school Democrat. Honestly, it is reposting this lazy thinking and "journalism" which makes it hard to take your posts seriously.

This is not about me, or even you. A single fool or two are not going to make a dent in the statistics. Statistical correlations like this one (ones IQ isn't particularly determined by whether you are liberal or not, but being liberal means that your IQ is likely to be a little higher), don't tend to lend themselves to trying to determine an individual's IQ. But, I'll say this, at least one of us is a idiot for arguing with the other, and I'm starting to think it is me.

University of Iowa professor recently argued that appreciation of “white marble” used in classical artwork contributes to “white supremacist ideas today.”

Professor Sarah Bond demonstrates in an article published in Hyperallergic that “many of the statues, reliefs, and sarcophagi created in the ancient Western world were in fact painted,” meaning the “white marble” often seen in such pieces of art were intended to be colored.

Consequently, Bond argues that “the equation of white marble with beauty is not an inherent truth of the universe,” and is thus “a dangerous construct that continues to influence white supremacist ideas today.”

Minnesota Schools Adopt Transgender Toolkit for Kindergartners

A “transgender toolkit” for public schools in Minnesota advises teachers to call children “scholars” instead of boys and girls.

The guidelines were approved Wednesday by the “School Safety Technical Assistance Council” and will be distributed to Kindergarten through 12th grade public schools and charter schools throughout the state. The toolkit attempts to “ensure a safe and supportive transition” for children becoming a different gender at school.

The toolkit allows for boys who identify as girls to use the girls’ bathroom, and tells teachers to ask kids what their “preferred pronouns” are.

California College Chancellor Wants To Abolish Algebra Requirement, Calls It A ‘Civil Rights Issue’



The chancellor of California’s community college system said he wants to abolish the college algebra requirement and called it a “civil rights issue” in a Wednesday interview.

Eloy Ortiz Oakley, chancellor of California Community Colleges, made the argument while speaking with NPR. He pegged algebraas overly burdensome due to the disproportionate rate at which it prevents students from graduating from community colleges; nearly 50 percent of community college students do not complete their math requirement.

“This is a civil rights issue, but this is also something that plagues all Americans — particularly low-income Americans,” said Oakley. “If you think about all the underemployed or unemployed Americans in this country who cannot connect to a job in this economy — which is unforgiving of those students who don’t have a credential — the biggest barrier for them is this algebra requirement. It’s what has kept them from achieving a credential.”
