Trump sets his hair on fire at the UN

That wasn’t a U.S. president at the UN General Assembly threatening to rain nuclear destruction on the planet, it was a failed preacher with long yellow hair from Nutbucket, Fla., threatening to rain nuclear destruction on the planet, same difference.

Either way, the odds of tens of millions of people dying by the time this enraged addled man leaves office are ballooning. Take it to the limit, Donald Trump! He won’t be able to resist that white mushroom cloud, that final glorious statement.

And what better place to announce it than the UN, where, as he sees it, funny-colored foreigners soak up American money. Trump gave not a speech, but a sermon. It was so bad it was unholy.

Donny from marketing goes to the United Nations

Trump’s much-awaited and ultimately amateurish UN speech confirmed that America’s relevance continues to shrink …

<snip>

... Trump may be president, but he matters less now than he did six months ago. And his speech likely confirmed for many in the audience that America also matters less than it did before—it is no longer “the leader of the free world”.

Is Trump about to repeat George W Bush's worst mistake?

In 2003, the United States initiated perhaps the greatest strategic disaster in US history by diverting attention from a necessary war in Afghanistan to an unnecessary war in Iraq. The Iraq war resulted in hundreds of thousands dead and wounded, untold economic catastrophe, states in the Middle East in complete ruin, and the rise of Isis – all while the effort to go after terrorists in Afghanistan languished.

President Donald Trump’s first speech before the United Nations General Assembly this week made clear that Trump wants to take America down a similar path by diverting much-needed attention from North Korea to starting an unnecessary conflict with Iran.

If the United States and the world cannot convince Trump to support the Iran nuclear deal and instead focus on real problems, America may once again plunge into a violent disaster in the Middle East, and in the process damage efforts to deal with a country that already has nuclear weapons.

Trump has already gone one year without WW3.

:138: Bump …
George Will Says Donald Trump Now ‘Nation’s Worst President’

President Trump is now the nation's worst president. At least according to Washington Post columnist George Will.
Will, a known conservative pundit and an outspoken Trump critic, tore into the president in an op-ed Thursday, arguing that Trump's support of Alabama GOP Senate candidate and accused child molester Roy Moore disqualifies him from public office.

"He is an anti-constitutional recidivist, twice removed from Alabama's highest court for his theocratic insistence that his religious convictions take precedence over U.S. Supreme Court decisions, so he could not have sincerely sworn to 'support and defend the Constitution' and to 'bear true faith and allegiance to the same,'"

http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/ ... &ocid=iehp

No sane person can deny what we are all witnessing anymore. It would be embarrassing to still be making excuses for this clown. What an embarrassing time to be a Republican. Ya, the DNC screwed up by not fielding a candidate who could win, but the Republicans gave this guy the key to the Whitehouse. Oops. You guys don't really look like you have a clue as to how to actually do this. It is sad to watch. Who could have thought the American government could become such a sad and pitiful joke as it is today? I truly feel bad for our southern neighbors right now, and for whatever person or government comes in to replace this scary gong show and has to start to rebuild America’s reputation. The benefits being realized by Americans right now due to Obama’s economic tenure will not last under this presidency, and if the country has not gone to or come to war before then, I suspect the country will be more divided than ever – whether by race, socioeconomic standing or rural vs urban. The ugliness has been given permission to climb out of the jar. This will be his legacy.

Is Trump Unfit for Office? The Constitution Says Yes

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution may define the conditions for suspending a president’s authority, but it does not constrain the reasoning behind it.

As written, the amendment states that if a president “is unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office,” the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet can suspend him. Historically, such an inability was attributable to illness or medical problems, but, in light of President Donald Trump, I offer we expand our interpretation: Medicine aside, it is clear Trump is unfit to serve, and lawmakers must invoke the 25th Amendment against him.

<snip>

The rise of Trump to the presidency now brings the question of presidential competence back into focus. Trump’s stumbling performance in his first 11 months represents a new low in the history of the modern presidency. It cannot be chalked up to medical disability, at least not at this juncture, but Trump is vulnerable under the amendment anyway.

First, Trump is untrustworthy. He makes promises he cannot keep, such as building a “beautiful” wall on the southern border. Second, he lies repeatedly—about the size of his inaugural crowds, the 3 to 5 million illegal voters in the 2016 election, Barack Obama’s birthplace and his voice on the Hollywood Access tape. Most recently, he has denied ever meeting the women who came forward Monday to accuse him of sexual harassment, and said they were lying. This brings me to my third point: Trump’s accusers are credible. In the #MeToo era, sexual misconduct should certainly be among the clearest evidence of presidential incompetence.

These shortcomings have made Trump the most unpopular first-year president in history: He has never won 50 percent support, either in the 2016 election or in opinion polls since taking office.

The only way America regains any of its credibility on the world stage after the disaster of this presidency
is by impeaching this goof and removing him from office. God help America.

Jflem1983 wrote:Trump has done a great job so far. Stock market loves him.

and then there are the facts, of course, ...

The vast majority of the bull market's gains occurred under President Obama, who presided over a stock market that more than tripled during his eight years in office.

http://money.cnn.com/2017/09/13/investi ... index.html
If you own stocks, you need to thank President Obama

If you're an investor, there are a lot of people to thank for the second-longest bull market run in history. Perhaps after mentioning people like Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen and S&P 500 CEOs for the support, it would be wise to bring up someone a little more unexpected: President Obama.

In fact, as far as presidents go, he's been one of the most successful in modern history in supporting the growth of the market according to Bespoke Investment Group.

"The reality, though, is that the stock market has done exceptionally well under President Obama," wrote Bespoke in a note out Thursday.

"The Dow Jones Industrial Average's performance [under Obama] of 120.6% ranks as the sixth best of any US President since 1900, just behind Reagan and comfortably ahead of Truman, who at 74.4% is far behind."

http://www.businessinsider.com/presiden ... nce-2016-6

Fortunately for Trump, Obama laid the groundwork for the market to recover – a recovery that began in 2009 and has only begun to slow. Analysts predict a correction (hopefully not a crash in America due to isolationist policy) sometime in 2018.
Is Trump Driving the Stock Market Rally?

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... rally.html

The Trump Effect On Markets: Will It Last In 2018?

http://investinghaven.com/reading-markets/trump-effect-markets-2018/

The Trump effect has rallied US markets – but it's based on illusion

Speculative markets have always been vulnerable to illusion. But seeing the folly in markets provides no clear advantage in forecasting outcomes, because changes in the force of the illusion are difficult to predict.

In the US, two illusions have been important recently in financial markets. One is the carefully nurtured perception that President-elect Donald Trump is a business genius who can apply his deal-making skills to make America great again.

The other is a naturally occurring illusion: the proximity of Dow 20,000. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been above 19,000 since November, and countless news stories have focused on its flirtation with the 20,000 barrier – which might be crossed by the time this commentary is published. Whatever happens, Dow 20,000 will still have a psychological impact on markets.

Trump has never been clear and consistent about what he will do as president. Tax cuts are clearly on his agenda, and the stimulus could lead to higher asset prices. Lower corporate taxes are naturally supposed to lead to higher share prices, while cuts in personal income tax might lead to higher home prices (though possibly offset by other changes in the tax system).

But it is not just Trump’s proposed tax changes that plausibly affect market psychology. The US has never had a president like him. Not only is he an actor, like Ronald Reagan; he is also a motivational writer and speaker, a brand name in real estate, and a tough deal maker. If he ever reveals his financial information, or if his family is able to use his influence as president to improve its bottom line, he might even prove to be successful in business.

The closest we can come to Trump among former US presidents might be Calvin Coolidge, an extremely pro-business tax cutter. “The chief business of the American people is business,” Coolidge famously declared, while his treasury secretary, Andrew Mellon – one of America’s wealthiest men – advocated tax cuts for the rich, which would “trickle down” in benefits to the less fortunate.

Why Trump Can't Make Coal Great Again

Long-term market forces will keep miners from getting their jobs back. But Trump could slow the decline of coal—and the rise of renewables.

https://news.nationalgeographic.com/201 ... eat-again/
Trump wants to keep burning coal for 1,000 years.

He went on to say: “There is a thing called clean coal … Coal will last for 1,000 years in this country.”

“Clean coal?” Yes, there is a reason Trump likes his nominally less than brilliant supporters,

Also coal related injuries and fatalities have doubled since Trump took office. Such great amazing jobs. Truly making America great again.

I’m surprised nobody has said anything the CDC censorship thing. For all the alt right talk about how the left are sensitive snowflakes that want certain words to not be used, the republicans go and make actual requirements about it for federal departments. The CDC now has a list of banned words such as “fetus” and “science-based”. That’s right the department responsible for the health of Americans is banned from talking about certain health related matters so as not to offend right wing snowflakes...

Yes, despite their love of throwing the term around anytime they can, the right-wing snowflakes own the label of hypocrisy, and always have. Just calling someone else a hypocrite is an act of ironic comedy on their part.

The CDC word censorship thing really bothers me. It's so blataly evil and wrong that it must be being used as smokescreen. What else is going on right now? I know they're working overtime to stack the judiciary with alt righters. That's not getting nearly enough news time.

What exactly is evil about not using some words. For instance the CDC rarely swears. I dont see u claiming that is evil. Why is not uaing some words a big deal. But not using others is blatently evil. As u put it
