The "http://www.environicsinstitute.org/uploads/institute-projects/survey%20of%20muslims%20in%20canada%202016%20-%20final%20report.pdf" report being paid for by Muslims is probably biased and says the thing most Muslims hate about Canada is the cold. I saw a poll in the Vancouver Sun that would disagree saying 42% of Muslims believe western values are irreconcilable with Islam.

Poll: "OTTAWA - A newly released survey suggests a large number of Muslims living in Canada will not disown Al-Qaida. The study, conducted by the MacDonald Laurier Institute, found 65% of Muslims questioned said they would “repudiate absolutely” the terrorist organization, while 35% would not do so."

There is a lot not to trust.

Where does it say that survey is paid for by Muslims?

All I can find is several groups that sponsored and conducted the survey and none of them are Muslim groups.

I get what you're saying. I'm not a Islam apologist by any standard, I fully support reformation. I just believe it isn't too much to ask that those who make this their home already are able to practice thier faith without fear or intimidation. In many ways it's in everyone's best interest because Muslim communities in countries such as a Canada and the US, will be key if Islam is ever going to catch up with the 21st century.

Hi f/22, in another post I clarified that I don't think you're a bigot. I think that you've been duped by click-bait headlines that don't put everything in proper perspective. 159 hate crimes are bad and wrong, but it's one of the smallest most minuscule crimes in Canada. 159 people represent 0.0004% of the country. The numbers are so small that a small change in reporting or just the normal variation from year to year leads to strange headlines like hate crimes against Muslims ... or Catholics... are up by 60%. The reason Muslim crimes are up by 61% is the same reason Catholic crimes are up by 57%. It's such a small number of people in Canada doing these things (thankfully) that a few extra incidents, probably by the same disgruntaled guy, can cause the numbers to skyrocket.

The Tessellate Institute is a non profit Muslim organization, plus many acknowledgements in the report.
Olive Tree transfers funds to Hamas. Many donors involved in the $200K report.

I thought I already proved - USA is the #1 warmonger country for violence - by far - and also
the #1 rape country.

USA is Christian.
Ukraine is broke, and undertook a war on that portion of the country that provided 30% of GDP. Now a draft, for an army, for a war, for a government that will - get this - implement IMF/EU *austerity*.

Actually, South Africa and Sweden have much higher rates of rape.

Yep, merci, that is an interesting article.

A lot of homework to check all the links and references.

Also, notice the sample sizes in the 2015 survey?

Still working on Jlabute’s post (above).

Here’s a link to the MacDonald Laurier Institute study.

http://www.macdonaldlaurier.ca/files/pd ... 1-2011.pdf

This study is based on quantitative data from a telephone survey in Ottawa2 and qualitative data from focus groups held across the country. Insofar as ethnic-community surveys are concerned, the survey involved a relatively large, representative sample of 455 Muslims along with a small sample (n=47) of Christians from Arab countries for comparative purposes.

For Glacier's sake, I hope those Christians were Catholics.

So, homework to do on that survey and still a lot to go through on the Pointe De Bascule” article.

Finding many broken links in the references.

This could all take a while . . ..

Oh, and nothing from “Pointe De Bascule” on Environics since the 2015 article - - - not even a comment on the 2016 survey when it came out.

This is my FP for this thread, the same as over on another thread.

Ironically, considering Glacier’s reopening post on this one, it involves Catholics and Muslims, and a proposal for how we could all get along.
